ESPN Chair Jimmy Pitaro, NBC Sports President Rick Cordella,\u202fand Amazon Prime Video VP &amp; Global Head of Sports and Advertising Jay Marine \u201cwanted to demonstrate that they\u2019re capable of working together to help fans find games\u201d &#8212; something that will be \u201cmore difficult this season.\u201d Broadcasts for games in the first year of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sportsbusinessjournal.com\/Articles\/2024\/07\/10\/nba-finalizes-media-rights-deals-nbc-espn-amazon\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.sportsbusinessjournal.com\/Articles\/2024\/07\/10\/nba-finalizes-media-rights-deals-nbc-espn-amazon\/\">NBA\u2019s new media deal<\/a> will see games spread across ABC, NBC, ESPN, Peacock, and Prime Video. Silver said, \u201cThey talked about ways in which they\u2019re going to seek to elevate the game this season, ways they\u2019re going to market it.\u201d He added, \u201cWe talked with them, and among our owners, on issues around streaming, the opportunities that presents for our league over time to customize the telecast to do a better job engaging with our fans\u201d (<a href=\"https:\/\/puck.news\/how-many-subscriptions-will-you-need-to-watch-the-nba-now\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">PUCK, 9\/11<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph sections-media \">HERE\u2019S THE BILL: THE ATHLETIC\u2019s Dan Shanoff wrote that given the NBA\u2019s \u201cnew suite\u201d of national TV partners this upcoming season, fans will \u201cneed to pay for a range of subscriptions (and fees, of course) to watch national games, along with your local team.\u201d Shanoff breaks down an estimate total of $880 for a \u201ctypical\u201d fan experience &#8212; \u201cwatching your local team plus all the nationally televised games.\u201d A cable\/streaming package is\u202f$720 ($90\/month* x 8 months) with Peacock at\u202f$88\u202f($11\/month x 8 months) and Amazon Prime Video at\u202f$72\u202f($9\/month x 8 months). An NBA League Pass subscription is also an option. A monthly subscription for one device costs $102 ($17\/month x 6 months) while a seasonal subscription for one device costs $110. The cost for a fan who wants access to local and national games with League Pass is $982 (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/athletic\/6621237\/2025\/09\/12\/nba-games-2025-streaming-cost-price\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">THE ATHLETIC, 9\/12<\/a>).
