Week 15 in the CFL begins Friday night in Hamilton as the 7-5 Tiger-Cats welcome the 6-6 Winnipeg Blue Bombers to town.<\/p>\n

The Blue Bombers will be without veteran quarterback Zach Collaros<\/a> after the three-time Grey Cup champion suffered an upper-body injury during Saturday\u2019s Banjo Bowl loss to the visiting Saskatchewan Roughriders. <\/p>\n

Long-time\u00a0Blue Bombers backup Chris Streveler will get the start behind centre on Friday.<\/p>\n

The 30-year-old, who has thrown for 772 yards with five touchdowns and eight interceptions in 2025, has won both games he\u2019s started this season for the Bombers.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s safe to say\u00a0that Streveler is amped up for Friday\u2019s game<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m excited. Any opportunity to get out there with the boys is exciting,\u201d Streveler told Blue Bombers reporter Ed Tait on Thursday.<\/a> \u201cI had a good couple days of prep. Another short week and sometimes it\u2019s better that way \u2014 just get into the game and get rolling. We\u2019re all pretty excited.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s a lot of review and studying, just putting last-minute pieces together. I definitely have a process for that. And for me \u2014 and you guys probably know this \u2014 I\u2019m a high-energy guy. So, for me it\u2019s how do I dial that back and save my energy that way come game time I can use it in a productive way. That\u2019s always been my thing even since high school. My coach would say, \u2018Calm down. You\u2019re way too hyped before a game.\u2019 I\u2019ve always tried to just keep myself as calm as possible and save my energy for when it\u2019s time to play.”<\/p>\n

The Blue Bombers are looking to get back on track after losing two straight games to the rival Roughriders, dropping their record to .500 on the season. They sit third in the West Division behind the Riders (10-2) and Calgary Stampeders (8-4). <\/p>\n

Winnipeg has advanced to the last five Grey Cup championship games, winning the first two before dropping the most recent three. <\/p>\n

On the other side of the ball, the Tiger-Cats look to win their second straight game after a nice bounce-back victory in Week 14 against the Montreal Alouettes following a late, heartbreaking defeat on home turf to the Toronto Argonauts on Labour Day. <\/p>\n

Veteran pivot Bo Levi Mitchell is having another strong season as the 35-year-old ranks second in the CFL in passing yards (3,653) and touchdowns (24).<\/p>\n

Hamilton enters Week 15 holding down top spot in the East Division, four points ahead of the Alouettes. <\/p>\n

The Tiger-Cats announced Friday morning the passing of general manager Ted Goveia<\/a> following a battle with cancer. <\/p>\n

His dedication to the game and to the Tiger-Cats family will never be forgotten,\u201d the team said in a release. <\/p>\n
