VIA Metropolitan Transit will host a job fair from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2025, at the VIA Metro Center, 1021 San Pedro Ave<\/a>.\u00a0Job applicants are encouraged to apply online prior to attending at VIAinfo.net\/employment<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Open positions include bus operators, mechanics and transit security officers. VIA is offering hiring incentives of up to $4,000 for bus operators, and up to $6,000 for mechanics.<\/p>\n

VIA\u2019s starting pay is $22.45 per hour for full-time bus operators and $26.79 per hour for mechanics. Uniform, shoe and tool allowances are offered for mechanics.<\/p>\n

Paid training is provided for new operator hires with classes starting weekly. VIA encourages applicants who meet the following criteria to apply for bus operator openings:<\/p>\n

\u2666 21 years or older
\u2666 Valid Texas driver\u2019s license
\u2666 Three years of experience driving a vehicle
\u2666 People skills<\/p>\n
