Coming into the NASCAR <\/a> Xfinity Series Playoffs, Justin Allgaier<\/a> has taken the pole for tonight\u2019s race at Bristol. The reigning champion is set to start off the postseason on a strong foot. <\/p>\n

A trip to the Round of 8 could be up for grabs tonight. Justin Allgaier would get a strong start to repeating his championship with a win and an automatic spot in the Round of 8. <\/p>\n

Allgaier got the pole over Sam Mayer and Aric Almirola<\/a>. Connor Zilisch and Taylor Gray round out the top-five. It\u2019s going to be an intense race tonight<\/a> at Bristol for these Xfinity Series Playoff drivers. <\/p>\n

\u201cWell, it\u2019s not only an advantage for tonight you know with the track conditions like they are, but I think it\u2019s an advantage for next week, too, right?\u201d Allgaier said after the qualifying session. \u201cGetting that pit stall selection. \u2026 To come out of here, to fire off with a pole position, just to set the tone, right? Start these playoffs. We have had so much speed this year and we\u2019ve been as fast as Xfinity Mobile a lot, just haven\u2019t had the result to show for it. <\/p>\n

\u201cSo, again, really proud of Jim Pohlman and this whole 7 team, everybody at JR Motorsports. It\u2019s going to be a long night. We all know that. But there\u2019s not a place that I love more than coming here to Bristol, and there\u2019s not a better way to start the playoffs off than to get a pole. I\u2019ve got my cool new helmet, so the alligator\u2019s definitely eating a little bit. So, hopefully, we can go get another sword for later and have one for each kid.\u201d<\/p>\n

Looking at the Xfinity Series Playoffs field, there are a few mishaps in qualifiyng. Brandon Jones was the worst of the 12 driver field as he qualified P22. Nick Sanchez is going to fire off P20. That could make for a long night at Bristol if those two teams aren\u2019t able to make moves early and get to the front. <\/p>\n

Brenden \u201cButterbean\u201d Queen is making his Xfinity Series debut. A lot to watch for tonight at the Last Great Colosseum. While he didn\u2019t get the win in ARCA, Queen is going to try his best to impress those in this series tonight. Who knows, it could be the race that lands him his next job. <\/p>\n

Speaking of drivers who are newer to the Xfinity Series, I\u2019m excited to see what Corey Day does. He has started to understand the ovals more as the season has gone on. He starts P17 for Hendrick Motorsports tonight. Carson Kvapil is a driver I expect to be at his best even with a somewhat disappointing qualifying position of P11. <\/p>\n

So, we have the field set for tonight.
