LOUISVILLE, Ky. \u2013 Opening its slate of fall tournaments, the Belmont University men’s tennis team took to the courts at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center in Louisville, Kentucky, and the MTSU Tennis Complex in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, Friday. Splitting up their squad, the Bruins are competing in both the Louisville Invitational and the MTSU Invitational this weekend with matches continuing through Sunday.

\nA more traditional tournament format, the Louisville Invitational includes both singles and doubles draws, while Middle Tennessee’s MTSU Invitational is being played with hidden duals between Belmont, the Blue Raiders, the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and Lipscomb.
\n\u00a0
\nOn Friday in Louisville, the Bruins faced players from Xavier, the University of Alabama at Birmingham, Tennessee and Eastern Kentucky. In Murfreesboro, Belmont took on nearby rival Lipscomb in a hidden dual format with a pair of doubles matches and four singles matches.
\n\u00a0
\nThe tandem of senior Sabi Roi<\/a> and junior Stefan Vedovelli<\/a> won their opening doubles match at the Louisville Invitational before both won their singles matches in straight sets.
\n\u00a0
\nDespite falling to the Bisons in two tiebreakers in doubles, the Bruins split singles matches with Lipscomb at the MTSU Invitational. Sophomores Esteban Ortiz<\/a> and Morgan Woodson<\/a> were both victorious in their singles matches with the Bisons.

\nOnly singles matches will be played Saturday at the Louisville Invitational beginning at 8 a.m. CT\/9 a.m. ET.
