WILMINGTON, N.C. \u2013\u00a0UNCW women’s soccer concluded the non-conference portion of the 2025 season with a 2-0 loss against Western Carolina on Friday night at UNCW Soccer Stadium.\u00a0<\/p>\n

UNCW fell to 4-3-1 overall while Western Carolina improved to 4-3-2.<\/p>\n

After an evenly matched first half, the Catamounts broke the scoreless tie in the 61st minute on Sofia Goclowski’s strike from the left side of the penalty area.<\/p>\n

Western Carolina extended its lead to two in the 72nd minute on a goal the six-yard box by\u00a0Ava Robitaille, following\u00a0a corner kick.<\/p>\n

The Seahawks had a pair of chances late in the second half, but both shot attempts hit the crossbar. UNCW finished the match with an 11-9 edge in shots while both teams tallied three shots on goal.<\/p>\n

Kayla Adams<\/a>, Ava Chuderewicz<\/a> and Hailey Longwell<\/a> each tallied two shots in the match for the Seahawks.<\/p>\n

UNCW will begin Coastal Athletic Association play on the road against Northeastern on Sept. 18 and Monmouth on Sept. 21.
