CLOUD, Minn. \u2013 St. Cloud State Women&#8217;s Soccer (2-0-1, 0-0-0 NSIC) found the back of the net five times in its home opener and nonconference finals, winning 5-0 over UW-Parkside (0-2-1, 0-0-0 GLIAC) on Friday night at Husky Stadium. Junior defender <a href=\"https:\/\/scsuhuskies.com\/sports\/womens-soccer\/roster\/ana-spaine\/19388\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"19388\" target=\"_blank\">Ana Spaine<\/a> (West Des Moines, Iowa) scored twice while senior midfielder <a href=\"https:\/\/scsuhuskies.com\/sports\/womens-soccer\/roster\/brooke-quam\/19387\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"19387\" target=\"_blank\">Brooke Quam<\/a> (Lakeville, Minn.) recorded three assists.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nBefore the game, SCSU honored its three seniors \u2013 senior defender <a href=\"https:\/\/scsuhuskies.com\/sports\/womens-soccer\/roster\/ella-clow\/19377\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"19377\" target=\"_blank\">Ella Clow<\/a> (Minneapolis, Minn.), senior forward <a href=\"https:\/\/scsuhuskies.com\/sports\/womens-soccer\/roster\/ellie-primerano\/19386\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"19386\" target=\"_blank\">Ellie Primerano<\/a> (Saint Jospeh, Mich.) and Quam \u2013 for Senior Night.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nTURNING POINT<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nSCSU scored just 9:34 into the game on a corner kick when Quam&#8217;s corner kick set piece made it through the box and right to Spaine, who headed it in for the first of five Husky goals. The momentum was well in SCSU&#8217;s favor, and the Huskies would then tack on first half goals in the 33rd and 44th minutes. Junior midfielder <a href=\"https:\/\/scsuhuskies.com\/sports\/womens-soccer\/roster\/cady-compton\/19378\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"19378\" target=\"_blank\">Cady Compton<\/a> (Ankeny, Iowa) scored the Huskies&#8217; second goal on a pass-up from Quam, while sophomore midfielder <a href=\"https:\/\/scsuhuskies.com\/sports\/womens-soccer\/roster\/darby-allen\/19375\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"19375\" target=\"_blank\">Darby Allen<\/a> (Minnetonka, Minn.) scored the third goal on a header after a free kick pass from junior defender <a href=\"https:\/\/scsuhuskies.com\/sports\/womens-soccer\/roster\/grace-olson\/19385\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"19385\" target=\"_blank\">Grace Olson<\/a> (West Des Moines, Iowa).<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nIn the second half, SCSU got goals from Spaine in the 51st minute and from junior forward <a href=\"https:\/\/scsuhuskies.com\/sports\/womens-soccer\/roster\/linsey-trapino\/19390\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"19390\" target=\"_blank\">Linsey Trapino<\/a> (Verona, Wis.) in the 61st minute.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nTOP HUSKIES<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n\tQuam led the charge offensively with three assists.&#13;<br \/>\n\tSpaine scored two goals in the game, her first career two-goal game.&#13;<br \/>\n\tAllen, Compton and Trapino all scored first goals of the season.&#13;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<br \/>\nNOTES<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n\tWith the win, SCSU improves to 2-5-0 all-time against UW-Parkside.&#13;<br \/>\n\tThe Huskies&#8217; five goals are the most in a game since a 6-0 win over Minnesota Crookston on Nov. 2, 2023, and the most in a nonconference game since a 7-0 win over Minnesota Crookston on Sept. 14, 2008.&#13;<br \/>\n\tQuam&#8217;s three assists matches a career-high from her three assists against UMC on Nov. 2, 2023. She becomes just the second Husky in program history to have multiple games with three or more assists, joining Kim Corbin who did it four times.&#13;<br \/>\n\tQuam&#8217;s three assists give her 18 career assists, moving her to third place all-time in program history.
