VILLANOVA, PA. \u2013 Princeton earned a dominant 3-0 victory over the Villanova Wildcats on Saturday on the road in Pennsylvania. Three Tigers scored in Bardia Hormozi<\/a>, Jack Jasinski<\/a> and Daniel Ittycheria<\/a>, with keeper Andrew Samuels<\/a> securing the shutout in goal.\u00a0

\nWith the win, Princeton improves to 2-1 on the season, while Villanova falls to 2-2-2.<\/p>\n

HOW IT HAPPENED

\nThe Tigers started pressing from the whistle, earning a corner in the first minute and starting to take shots as one from Liam Beckwith<\/a> was blocked by a Wildcat defender.<\/p>\n

Another good chance would come at the feet of Ittycheria in the 11th minute, but it would go just high of the goal.<\/p>\n

A ball looping into the box from Roka Tsunehara<\/a> and Ittycheria would find the foot of Hormozi, who launched it into the upper left corner of the net to score his first career goal and put the Tigers up 1-0.

\nThe half would continue to be all Princeton, as the Tigers stayed on offense generating a total of 13 shots to Villanova’s two through the first 45.\u00a0

\nIn the 36th minute, Ittycheria opened his 2025 account and doubled the Tiger lead as he headed the ball into the upper right of the net off a corner from Jasinski.\u00a0

\nJust two minutes later, another cross from Tsunehara was sent in front of the goal where Jasinski found it and finished with his second goal of the year, making it 3-0 Tigers going into the break.\u00a0

\nComing out of the half, the Wildcats turned up the heat as they fought to generate chances.<\/p>\n

In the 56th minute, a foul in the box resulted in a penalty kick awarded to Villanova. Fynn Lahrsen stepped up and sent the ball towards the bottom left of the net, but Tiger keeper Andrew Samuels<\/a> was there to deny the Wildcats and keep the shutout.

\nThe Tigers continued to dominate, taking another 11 shots and forcing three saves from the Villanova keeper Alex Yagudayev.

\nThe 3-0 score stood final, securing the Tigers a clean sheet and dominant win on the road.\u00a0

\n\tJasinski’s goal was his second of the year. WIth an assist on Hormozi’s goal, he had three points on the day – his second three-point performance in two games.

\n\tSamuels made two saves in the shutout, including one on the PK for his first clean sheet of the year.\u00a0
