The weather cleared up in time to play the afternoon match after Valpo&#8217;s originally scheduled morning match against Holy Cross (Ind.) was postponed due to storms.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nHow It Happened<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n\tThe Beacons captured the doubles point, winning on the second and third courts. The No. 3 doubles team of freshman <a href=\"https:\/\/valpoathletics.com\/sports\/womens-tennis\/roster\/alexandra-popa\/10232\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"10232\" target=\"_blank\">Alexandra Popa<\/a> (Glenview, Ill. \/ Glenbrook South) and sophomore <a href=\"https:\/\/valpoathletics.com\/sports\/womens-tennis\/roster\/andrea-delgado\/10227\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"10227\" target=\"_blank\">Andrea Delgado<\/a> (Richmond, Texas \/ Foster [Dallas Baptist]) blitzed Ashley Bucur and Coby Sander 6-1, while <a href=\"https:\/\/valpoathletics.com\/sports\/womens-tennis\/roster\/lacey-tanner\/7000\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"7000\" target=\"_blank\">Lacey Tanner<\/a> (Fort Pierce, Fla. \/ Florida Virtual School) and sophomore <a href=\"https:\/\/valpoathletics.com\/sports\/womens-tennis\/roster\/brynn-steven\/7001\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"7001\" target=\"_blank\">Brynn Steven<\/a> (Wichita, Kan. \/ Bishop Carroll) teamed up for a 6-4 victory at the No. 2 spot to secure the doubles point. The top tandem succumbed to Huntington 7-5.&#13;<br \/>\n\tSenior <a href=\"https:\/\/valpoathletics.com\/sports\/womens-tennis\/roster\/madi-rogers\/10233\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"10233\" target=\"_blank\">Madi Rogers<\/a> (Clearwater, Fla. \/ Florida Virtual [Bradley]) had no trouble in singles in her Beacon debut, as she was the first off the court with a 6-1, 6-2 victory over Sander at No. 6.&#13;<br \/>\n\tSilva took her first set 6-3 at No. 1 Singles, before rapping off six straight games to take the second set at love, 6-0.&#13;<br \/>\n\tDelgado was victorious in both singles and doubles on her first day as a Beacon, winning her No. 5 singles match while dropping only one game in each set, beating Bucur 6-1, 6-1.&#13;<br \/>\n\tTanner pulled away from Addison Mast in the opening set of the No. 2 Singles match 6-1 before holding her off to take the second 7-5.&#13;<br \/>\n\tPopa started her collegiate career in style, winning a competitive match that needed a tiebreak in the second set, beating Yariange Bello 6-3, 7-6(6) at No. 4.&#13;<br \/>\n\tThe Foresters won the No. 3 Singles match on a third-set tiebreak 10-8 after the first two sets were both decided by tight 6-4 scores, one going each way.&#13;<\/p>\n<p>Inside the Match <\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n\tThree players made their Valpo debuts on Saturday, and all three picked up singles wins.
