NASCAR allowed drivers an extra set of Goodyear tires after multiple playoff competitors were left furious with the conditions<\/a> in Bristol.<\/p>\n

While the race was ongoing, multiple drivers, including Kyle Larson<\/a> and William Byron complained about their tires early on during Saturday’s qualifier<\/a>.<\/p>\n

This led to a scramble, with NASCAR<\/a> making a decision while the drivers were on the track for Goodyear, the NASCAR Cup Series tire provider, allowing extra tires to get through the race.<\/p>\n

Once every team had a set mounted, extra tires were provided, something that clearly had been necessary with Larson’s tires looking ruined early on.<\/p>\n

Being heard on his radio, Larson said: ” Man, I don’t… It’s like my tires are gone already.”<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Byron could be heard stating: ” This is ——, this is ——. Our right rears are completely ——.”<\/p>\n

Saturday’s race was won by Christopher Bell, with Brad Keselowski and Zane Smith surprisingly finishing in second and third place, respectively.<\/p>\n

It had been a huge race for drivers on the bubble at the back end of the playoffs, with four big names eliminated from contention.<\/p>\n

Alex Bowman, Austin Dillon, Shane van Gisbergen and Josh Berry were officially eliminated from the playoffs, with four further drivers now fighting to remain in the competition next week.<\/p>\n

Last year’s champion Joey Logano is in danger of elimination, along with Austin Cindric, Ross Chastain and Tyler Reddick only just qualifying into the final 12.\u00a0<\/p>\n
