\n\tDavid Letterman<\/a> let his past comments on CBS speak for him after The Late Show<\/a> was canceled by the network. On Monday, the late-night icon shared a 20-minute montage of different moments of himself speaking against the company and its actions while he was host of the network\u2019s evening talk show.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cYou can\u2019t spell CBS without BS,\u201d\u00a0he captioned the YouTube video, which was titled \u201cCBS: The Tiffany Network.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe 20-minute video featured clips from 1994, 2003, 2004, 2010, 2007, 2012, 2011, and 2013 during episodes when he hosted the show. One 1994 clip called out the network for removing the NFL from its airwaves, sharing fake slogans for the network: \u201cCould be sold,\u201d \u201cCBS, Now on Fox,\u201d and \u201cMore powerful than the Weather Channel!\u201d were among them.<\/p>\n

\n\tIn another quip from 2003, Letterman joked that CBS had not made it clear that the Late Show had been on air for so long. \u201cThey don\u2019t know and they don\u2019t care \u2026 I don\u2019t want to get in trouble here but I\u2019m gonna call the CBS switchboard and see if they know how long we\u2019ve been on air,\u201d said Letterman. \u201cMaybe I\u2019m overreacting.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tOne clip captured Letterman holding up a copy of USA Today with a CBS ad that promoted NCIS, The Unit, and Cane, but failed to mention his show. He quipped, \u201cIf you look way, way down here,\u201d pointing to a tiny note about The Late Show\u2018s guests for that evening.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Letterman video comes just four days after CBS announced<\/a> that it will end The Late Show for supposed financial issues at the network, as it thanked Stephen Colbert<\/a>, the show\u2019s host, for his years helming the program. \u201cThis is purely a financial decision against a challenging backdrop in late night. It is not related in any way to the show\u2019s performance, content or other matters happening at Paramount,\u201d the network wrote in its announcement.<\/p>\n

\n\tHowever, the decision to cut Colbert drew stark criticism <\/a>by many, since the announcement came days after Colbert criticized the parent company of the network\u2019s decision to agree to a settlement with Trump.<\/p>\n

\n\tElizabeth Warren\u00a0questioned the motives behind CBS\u2019 decision. \u201cA deal that looks like bribery,\u201d the senator<\/a> wrote on X. \u201cAmerica deserves to know if his show was canceled for political reasons.\u201d Adam Schiff<\/a> also claimed the move may have been political. \u201cJust finished taping with Stephen Colbert who announced his show was cancelled,\u201d Schiff tweeted. \u201cIf Paramount and CBS ended the Late Show for political reasons, the public deserves to know.
