PHILADELPHIA \u2013 The University of Pennsylvania women’s tennis team opened its season this weekend in the Tribe Invitational at William and Mary.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

The two-day event kicked off Saturday morning and lasted\u00a0until Sunday afternoon.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
The Quakers competed against William and Mary, Richmond, James Madison, the University of South Florida (USF) and Eastern Carolina over the course of the weekend.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n
Freshmen Joleen Saw<\/a> and Varsha Vedula<\/a> both recorded their first collegiate singles and doubles wins. Saw went 2-1 in her singles and doubles matches while the pairing of Vedula and Sarah Wang<\/a> went 2-1 in doubles.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n Stojanovski was also selected for the All-American prequalifying Singles draw.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n Penn returns to action next weekend in the University of Delaware (UD) Invite which will run\u00a0from Friday to Sunday.<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n #FightOnPenn\u00a0<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
