\u201cThe cautions weren\u2019t because of people blowing tires. They were because guys were getting into multi-car incidents, going for holes that weren\u2019t there. There was a lot of chaos tonight based on the way guys were racing, and maybe the tire wear started some of that \u2014 guys saying, \u2018I\u2019ve got speed, I\u2019ve got to use it now. I\u2019m going to be more conservative,\u2019 whatever. <\/p>\n
\u201cIt wasn\u2019t like, \u2018Oh my gosh, there\u2019s 14 cautions because people\u2019s tires were blowing every 30 laps and we couldn\u2019t race.\u2019 They made it to the end, and they had this strategy and it saved them. That\u2019s racing. That\u2019s motorsports. It wasn\u2019t a gimmick. It was entertaining.\u201d<\/p>\n
In the end, Christopher Bell survived the chaos to win at Bristol, clinching his spot in the Round of 12. With four drivers eliminated, the playoffs will continue at New Hampshire this coming weekend, another track where Bell has excelled.<\/p>\n
We\u2019ll see if the critics are more satisfied with the racing this weekend, as NASCAR moves on from Bristol.
