Jared Gordon had a bizarre few days.<\/p>\n
The Lightweight veteran revealed that he wasn\u2019t just dealing with Rafa Garcia inside the Octagon at Noche UFC 3<\/a> (Sat., Sept. 13, 2025) in San Antonio, Texas \u2014 he was also dealing with the aftermath of getting hit by a car the night before<\/a>.<\/p>\n Gordon suffered a second-round stoppage loss to Garcia (watch highlights<\/a>), but after the fight, his close friend Belal Muhammad broke the shocking news that \u201cFlash\u201d had entered the cage severely compromised. Now, Gordon has confirmed the story himself, walking fans through the freak accident.<\/p>\n \u201cThis past fight week was weird. Two hours after weigh-ins, I was standing in the street while a car was backing out behind me,\u201d Gordon explained. \u201cI was looking down the street away from the car. The driver was looking the other way as someone is helping him back out, waving him on, the front end of the car started turning, and the right wheel ran my right foot over as bumper started turning and buckled my knee inward, spraining my MCL.\u201d<\/p>\n According to Gordon, he considered withdrawing but ultimately chose to fight through it after putting together a strong camp.<\/p>\n \u201cI thought about pulling out, but decided not to. Was it the wrong decision? Maybe so,\u201d Gordon continued. \u201cAfter a hard, good camp, I didn\u2019t wanna pull out. It is what it is. I\u2019ll move forward. Sorry to all my fans for the performance.\u201d<\/p>\n For Gordon, the bizarre accident may go down as one of the most unusual fight-week setbacks in recent memory, and he will be out of action until his knee heals up.<\/p>\n The loss drops Gordon to 2-2 across his last four outings, halting the momentum he built earlier this year when he slept Thiago Moises (watch highlights<\/a>).<\/p>\n As for Garcia, the win was one of his most violent Octagon showings to date, and it gives him a little more momentum in a crowded Lightweight field.<\/p>\n
