{"id":148521,"date":"2025-09-16T17:34:08","date_gmt":"2025-09-16T17:34:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/148521\/"},"modified":"2025-09-16T17:34:08","modified_gmt":"2025-09-16T17:34:08","slug":"lady-toppers-announce-2025-26-schedule","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/148521\/","title":{"rendered":"Lady Toppers Announce 2025-26 Schedule"},"content":{"rendered":"<p dir=\"ltr\">BOWLING GREEN, Ky. \u2013 WKU Women&#8217;s Tennis Head Coach <a href=\"https:\/\/wkusports.com\/sports\/womens-tennis\/roster\/coaches\/greg-davis\/1256\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"1256\" target=\"_blank\">Greg Davis<\/a> announced his team&#8217;s 2025-26 schedule on Tuesday.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The Lady Toppers, who are in the winningest four-year stretch in program history, will play in two events this fall before getting the spring schedule started in mid-January.<\/p>\n<p>The spring regular-season schedule features 24 matches, with 13 of those coming at home in Bowling Green at either the WKU Tennis Complex on WKU&#8217;s South Campus or at the Warren County Tennis Facility at Michael O. Buchanon Park. The Lady Toppers are slated to face four Conference USA opponents in the regular season, before the CUSA Tournament in Murfreesboro, Tennessee,\u00a0April 15-18.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This is going to be a very challenging schedule,&#8221; Davis said. &#8220;Two Power Four teams in our first three matches. We&#8217;ve got some very difficult home matches with Butler and Ball State, as well as big conference matches against Missouri State, Sam Houston State and MTSU.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>WKU gets the fall started at the APSU Fall Tournament, hosted by Austin Peay, on Sept. 19, 20 and 21. The Lady Toppers will head to Murfreesboro, Tennessee, for the Middle Tennessee Fall Invitational on Oct. 10, 11 and 12.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>WKU gets the 2026 spring season started with a home match against Bellarmine on Jan. 15, before facing two Power Conference opponents on the road \u2013\u00a0at Vanderbilt on Jan. 17 and at Louisville on Jan. 19.<\/p>\n<p>The Lady Toppers return home for the rest of January with matches against Northern Kentucky on Jan. 23, against Tennessee State on Jan. 25 and a doubleheader against UT Southern on Jan. 30. WKU will cap off the\u00a0five-match homestand on Feb. 6 against Lipscomb.<\/p>\n<p>The Lady Toppers then hit the road for three matches \u2013 at Southern Indiana on Feb. 7, and matches in Richmond, Kentucky, against\u00a0UNC Asheville on Feb. 14 and against\u00a0Eastern Kentucky on Feb. 15.<\/p>\n<p>WKU returns to Bowling Green for a five-match homestand, starting with a Feb. 22 match against Butler, which is followed by a Feb. 27 match against SEMO, a Feb. 28 match against Belmont, a March 5 match against Ball State and a March 12 conference match against Sam Houston.<\/p>\n<p>The Lady Toppers will follow the five-match homestand with five consecutive road matches. The road swing starts at North Alabama on March 15, before matches at Alabama A&amp;M on March 17, at Murray State on March 22, at UAB on March 27 and at Jax State on March 28.<\/p>\n<p>WKU will face its second consecutive CUSA opponent when it hosts Missouri State on April 2. The final road match of the regular season will take the Lady Toppers to Austin Peay on April 4. WKU is slated to finish the regular season at home against Middle Tennessee on April 9.<\/p>\n<p>The CUSA Tournament will be hosted by Middle Tennessee in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. The event is scheduled for\u00a0April 15-18.<\/p>\n<p>WKU returns three players from the 2024-25 roster in <a href=\"https:\/\/wkusports.com\/sports\/womens-tennis\/roster\/emily-schut\/6127\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"6127\" target=\"_blank\">Emily Schut<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/wkusports.com\/sports\/womens-tennis\/roster\/elizabeth-sobieski\/6128\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"6128\" target=\"_blank\">Elizabeth Sobieski<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/wkusports.com\/sports\/womens-tennis\/roster\/carolina-chiatti\/6125\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"6125\" target=\"_blank\">Carolina Chiatti<\/a>. The Lady Toppers brought in five newcomers \u2013 <a href=\"https:\/\/wkusports.com\/sports\/womens-tennis\/roster\/isabelle-einess\/6129\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"6129\" target=\"_blank\">Isabelle Einess<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/wkusports.com\/sports\/womens-tennis\/roster\/ariadna-fernandez\/6130\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"6130\" target=\"_blank\">Ariadna Fernandez<\/a>, Virginia Madue\u00f1o, <a href=\"https:\/\/wkusports.com\/sports\/womens-tennis\/roster\/barbara-olvera\/6168\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"6168\" target=\"_blank\">Barbara Olvera<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/wkusports.com\/sports\/womens-tennis\/roster\/andra-sirbu\/6167\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"6167\" target=\"_blank\">Andra Sirbu<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>WKU is coming off a 15-10 season, which included a 12-6 record at home. The 15 wins are tied for third-most in a single season in program history and the 12 home wins are tied for the most at home in a single season.
