<\/p>\n BUIES CREEK, N.C. \u2014 Sophomore defender Joaquin Sonez<\/a> scored his first first collegiate goal in the 70th minute, leading the Longwood men’s soccer team to a 2-2 draw at Campbell in non-conference action at the Eakes Athletics Complex on Tuesday.<\/p>\n The Sonez tally helped the Lancers salvage a draw after the Camels scored goals 1:45 apart spanning both halves to earn a 2-1 advantage.\u00a0<\/p>\n On the equalizer, Brando Bedolla<\/a> carried the ball along the endline on the right side, and sent it into the penalty area, where Syrus Conolly<\/a> flicked it across the face of goal to Sonez at the top of the six-yard box.<\/p>\n The draw helped Longwood (1-3-2) grab its first result against the former Big South Conference foe since beating Campbell Oct. 31, 2018 by a 3-0 count.<\/p>\n Longwood scored first, just 13 minutes into the contest, when Christer Salvesen<\/a> found Benjamin Ferrero<\/a> making a run down the right side. Salveson hit his fellow freshman in stride and Campbell goalkeeper Max Leviton made a late decision to come out, getting caught of off of his line. Ferrero took advantage, looping it over Leviton’s head for his first career goal.\u00a0<\/p>\n Campbell knotted the match with just 50 seconds remaining in the first half through James Roberts and took the lead only 55 seconds into the second half on a James Jenkin goal.<\/p>\n Campbell held a 16-10 advantage in shots and carried an 8-0 edge in corner kicks for the contest.\u00a0<\/p>\n
