{"id":150069,"date":"2025-09-17T09:16:15","date_gmt":"2025-09-17T09:16:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/150069\/"},"modified":"2025-09-17T09:16:15","modified_gmt":"2025-09-17T09:16:15","slug":"10000-free-shirts-at-bc-lions-orange-shirt-day-game-sept-26","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/150069\/","title":{"rendered":"10,000 free shirts at BC Lions&#8217; Orange Shirt Day game Sept. 26"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>BC Lions&#8217; fifth Orange Shirt Day game will feature special guests and attractions on Friday, Sept. 26, before and during the CFL team&#8217;s football battle\u00a0with Toronto Argonauts.<\/p>\n<p>The annual game honours\u00a0Canada\u2019s National Day for Truth and Reconciliation at\u00a0Save-On-Foods Field\/BC Place Stadium in Vancouver.<\/p>\n<p>Players will wear special Orange Shirt Day warmup jerseys, to be raffled off in support of Orange Shirt Society and\u202fIndian Residential Schools Survivors\u2019 Society (IRSSS).\u202f<\/p>\n<p>The first\u202f10,000 fans through the stadium gates will receive free orange t-shirts, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bclions.com\/2025\/09\/16\/lions-to-host-5th-annual-orange-shirt-day-game-sept-26\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">a news release posted on\u00a0bclions.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>With\u202f\u2018Surviving to Thriving\u2019 as this year\u2019s game theme, the club\u00a0will also present a $20,000 cheque to Orange Shirt Society and host hundreds of residential school survivors and families.<\/p>\n<p>Joleen Mitton, founder of Vancouver Indigenous Fashion Week and Supernaturals, will help showcase the work of Indigenous fashion designers and the world\u2019s first all-Indigenous modelling agency. Local First Nations rock band Bitterly Divine will perform at halftime, and \u202fDJ Oshow\u202fwill handle\u00a0pre-game entertainment with others.\u202fAlso, fans can check out an\u00a0Indigenous Marketplace during the game,\u00a0presented by Prospera Credit Union, BC Hydro and LiUNA!
