The Georgia Secretary of State’s Office confirmed on Wednesday that applications for the November 15 with the Georgia Boxing Commission were withdrawn.

ATLANTA — It appears the Jake Paul vs. Gervonta Davis fight that was to be held at State Farm Arena on November 14 is now on hold and may need to find a new state to be staged in, as Georgia authorities confirmed Wednesday that applications for the fight have been withdrawn.

USA Today first reported Wednesday the fight was in limbo as Jake Paul’s fight promotion venture, Most Valuable Promotions (MVP), withdrew its application and waiver for what was to be a 65-pound weight difference between Paul and Davis.

The Georgia Secretary of State’s Office confirmed to 11Alive that MVP’s application with the Georgia Boxing Commission for the fight was withdrawn. 11Alive has also reached out to State Farm Arena for more information.

The fight would have been something of a first for Paul, the 28-year-old YouTuber known for attention-grabbing bouts. His widely-watched fights usually don’t involve a serious boxer in his prime (such as when he fought then-58-year-old Mike Tyson last year).

Davis would have been the first active, champion boxer to square up with Paul — the catch being the considerable weight difference between 6-foot-1 Paul, who fights around 200 pounds, and 5-foot-5 Davis, a 135-pound division champion.

It’s unclear if promoters for the fight faced pushback at all from Georgia authorities on that matter, or if the fight application was withdrawn for other reasons.

The Georgia Secretary of State’s Office confirmed on Wednesday that applications for the November 15 with the Georgia…

[447
703,49,48,82
post-150866","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-boxing","tag-boxing","tag-ca","tag-canada","tag-sports
["GET
