{"id":151447,"date":"2025-09-17T23:40:06","date_gmt":"2025-09-17T23:40:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/151447\/"},"modified":"2025-09-17T23:40:06","modified_gmt":"2025-09-17T23:40:06","slug":"almost-500-kilograms-of-cocaine-seized-at-ambassador-bridge","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/151447\/","title":{"rendered":"Almost 500 kilograms of cocaine seized at Ambassador Bridge"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"b-date-custom__date-item\">Updated:\u00a0September 17, 2025 at 6:04PM EDT<\/p>\n<p class=\"b-date-custom__date-item\">Published:\u00a0September 17, 2025 at 3:03PM EDT<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has stopped a total of 475.95 kilograms of cocaine from coming into Canada near the Ambassador Bridge last Thursday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">CBP flagged the trailer for inspection on Sept. 11, which revealed \u2018several bricks of a white powdery substance concealed within multiple boxes and two duffel bags.\u2019 Officers tested it and it was confirmed to be cocaine. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">\u201cPreventing the scourge of dangerous narcotics from harming our communities is an essential part of our border security mission and we\u2019ll continue to hold the line against the illicit drug trade,\u201d said Marc Calixte, port director for the Port of Detroit. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">The cocaine, truck, and trailer were seized.
