Fans of The Parent Trap were in for a sweet surprise while watching Elaine Hendrix<\/a> and pro Alan Bersten<\/a> on Dancing With the Stars <\/a>season 34 premiere night.<\/p>\n

The pair\u2019s performance on the Tuesday, September 16, episode kicked off with a close-up shot of Hendrix, 54, sporting a large black hat over her face and slowly lifting her head toward the camera. The moment was an ode to the 1998 film, where Hendrix \u2014 who portrayed Meredith Blake \u2014 wore the sunhat poolside while being introduced to Nick Parker (Dennis Quaid)\u2019s daughter.<\/p>\n

\u201cElaine has such an incredible acting career, but Meredith Blake is such an iconic character, we had to pay homage to it. \u201d Bersten, 31, exclusively gushed to Us Weekly after the performance on Tuesday. \u201cSo many kids have grown up with [The] Parent Trap. So many people are watching it now and discovering it now for the first time and realizing how great it is. I really wanted to showcase Elaine as Meredith Blake, but also as Elaine.\u201d<\/p>\n

As Hendrix performed a cha-cha<\/a> to Kesha\u2019s \u201cWoman\u201d with Bersten, she had her The Parent Trap costar and real-life best friend Lisa Ann Walter cheering her on from the audience.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tNo elimination took place during the season 34 premiere of Dancing With the Stars, which means two couples will be saying goodbye next week. \u201cI knew they were gonna do something,\u201d pro Mark Ballas exclusively told Us Weekly after his first performance in the ballroom with Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star Whitney Leavitt on [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n

\u201cAlan is my show security blanket, while Lisa is my life security blanket,\u201d Hendrix quipped to Us. \u201cShe pushed her production to be here. I was like, \u2018Girl, don\u2019t ruffle any feathers. If you miss it, it\u2019s fine.\u2019 But no, of course, she made it happen. She\u2019s my ride or die and I love her.\u201d<\/p>\n

As the Nancy Meyers film begins to approach a milestone 30th anniversary<\/a>, Hendrix teased that \u201cthere\u2019s a lot of talk\u201d about reprising her role.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s above my pay grade. All I know is that we\u2019re all ready. We would all do it, absolutely. I love it,\u201d she said. \u201cI have the millennials to thank for #justiceformeredithblake.\u201d<\/p>\n

Now, however, Hendrix has her eye on the mirrorball trophy<\/a> \u2014 and is hoping to make it through next week\u2019s double-elimination.<\/p>\n
