Prime Video has officially announced that The Summer I Turned Pretty will return as a feature film, bringing Belly’s story to its final chapter. The confirmation came just after the Season 3 finale premiered, closing with a Paris red carpet celebration where author and showrunner Jenny Han addressed fans directly.

Han explained that the film would begin immediately after the series finale, extending Belly’s journey beyond the original trilogy. While keeping the storyline under wraps, she mentioned that one major milestone in Belly’s life still remained untold and could not be captured within the limitations of a television format. She expressed that this particular moment was significant enough to demand a cinematic treatment, which, in her view, only a movie could properly deliver. Han also conveyed her gratitude to Prime Video for supporting her vision and giving her the opportunity to bring the story to a conclusive final act.

The Series So Far"TSIP"Image Credits: Instagram

Based on Han’s bestselling books, The Summer I Turned Pretty has followed Isabel “Belly” Conklin from her teenage summers at Cousins Beach into the challenges of adulthood. Across three seasons, the series has explored her relationships with brothers Conrad and Jeremiah Fisher, the complexities of first love, and her evolving bond with family and friends. Each season corresponded closely to one of Han’s novels, but the upcoming film will expand the narrative beyond the written trilogy, giving the story a fresh continuation.

The series became popular not only for its romance but also for how it portrayed themes of grief, change, and identity. Moments of joy, heartbreak, and discovery anchored the show in realism while also appealing to younger audiences through its beachside nostalgia and contemporary soundtrack. This mix helped the series find a global audience.

Amazon reported that Season 3 attracted over 25 million global viewers in its first week, placing the series among Prime Video’s most-watched teen dramas. Courtenay Valenti, head of film at Amazon MGM Studios, and Vernon Sanders, Global Head of Television at Prime Video, praised the show for connecting across generations. They said the story created a shared cultural moment, striking a balance between nostalgia for long-time readers and relatability for newer audiences discovering Belly on screen.

The film is set to reunite the ensemble cast. Lola Tung will return as Belly, with Christopher Briney, Gavin Casalegno, Jackie Chung, Rachel Blanchard, Sean Kaufman, and Rain Spencer all expected to reprise their roles. Jenny Han will write the screenplay and co-showrun with Sarah Kucserka, with both serving as executive producers.

Signs of continuation were already visible in the Season 3 finale credits. Viewers spotted a montage of Belly and Conrad celebrating Christmas in Paris, a sequence not shown during the episodes. The scenes included the pair exchanging gifts and enjoying tender holiday moments, with Belly wearing a red pajama set that recalled her earlier celebrations at Cousins Beach.

The surprise slideshow sparked speculation online, with fans calling it a deliberate hint at what might come next. The credits also carried a handwritten note from Jenny Han thanking viewers for following Belly’s journey from book to screen. She hinted at the possibility of meeting again “one summer in Cousins,” leaving audiences curious about whether the story had truly ended.

A Farewell with a Film

Not long after, Han confirmed what fans had guessed: the saga would continue as a feature-length film. She stressed that the project would not only bring Belly’s arc to a close but also serve as a farewell to a world that has been part of readers’ and viewers’ summers for over a decade.

Until then, audiences can revisit the novels and three seasons on Prime Video. With strong numbers, a loyal fan base, and Han at the helm, The Summer I Turned Pretty movie is set up to deliver a thoughtful and emotional conclusion to a coming-of-age story that redefined the modern summer romance.

[29
80614,80615,80617,80616,80618,49,48,75,1913,80609,80611,80613,80612,80610,348
post-152355","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-tv","tag-belly-conrad","tag-belly-conrad-and-jeremiah","tag-belly-conrad-finale","tag-belly-conrad-movie","tag-belly-conrad-wedding","tag-ca","tag-canada","tag-entertainment","tag-the-summer-i-turned-pretty","tag-the-summer-i-turned-pretty-season-3","tag-tsitp-movie","tag-tsitp-movie-reddit","tag-tsitp-movie-release-date","tag-tsitp-season-3","tag-tv
["GET
