{"id":152781,"date":"2025-09-18T14:10:09","date_gmt":"2025-09-18T14:10:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/152781\/"},"modified":"2025-09-18T14:10:09","modified_gmt":"2025-09-18T14:10:09","slug":"mens-tennis-opens-fall-season-with-annual-home-event-chowderfest","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/152781\/","title":{"rendered":"Men\u2019s Tennis Opens Fall Season with Annual Home Event, Chowderfest"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\n                    &#13;<br \/>\n                        Story Links&#13;<br \/>\n                        &#13;<br \/>\n    &#13;<br \/>\n&#13;<\/p>\n<p>                     CAMBRIDGE, Mass. \u2013 Harvard men&#8217;s tennis will return to the court for the first time this fall as it hosts its annual home tournament, Chowderfest, from Friday, September 19 through Sunday, September 21.<\/p>\n<p>What to Know<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n\tThe Crimson will host athletes from Brown, Yale, Cornell, Southern Methodist, Illinois, and Boston University during the three-day event at Beren Tennis Center.\u00a0&#13;<br \/>\n\tHarvard is coming off yet another strong year where it finished 20-7 and made its sixth straight NCAA Tournament appearance.\u00a0&#13;<br \/>\n\tPrior to the 2025-26 season, the Crimson added three first-years to its roster in <a href=\"https:\/\/gocrimson.com\/sports\/mens-tennis\/roster\/nathan-blokhin\/30305\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"30305\" target=\"_blank\">Nathan Blokhin<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/gocrimson.com\/sports\/mens-tennis\/roster\/noah-gilligan\/31672\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"31672\" target=\"_blank\">Noah Gilligan<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/gocrimson.com\/sports\/mens-tennis\/roster\/kolos-kincses\/30306\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"30306\" target=\"_blank\">Kolos Kincses<\/a>.\u00a0&#13;<br \/>\n\tAhead of the year, Harvard received a pair of nods in the ITA Men&#8217;s Division I Preseason Singles and Doubles Rankings.\u00a0 <a href=\"https:\/\/gocrimson.com\/sports\/mens-tennis\/roster\/benjamin-privara\/30303\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"30303\" target=\"_blank\">Benjamin Privara<\/a> is ranked No. 49 nationally for singles and No. 58 in doubles alongside <a href=\"https:\/\/gocrimson.com\/sports\/mens-tennis\/roster\/masato-perera\/30302\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"30302\" target=\"_blank\">Masato Perera<\/a>.\u00a0&#13;<br \/>\n\tThe Crimson is set for another strong season as it returns nearly 85% of its singles victories from last year.\u00a0&#13;<br \/>\n\tSeniors <a href=\"https:\/\/gocrimson.com\/sports\/mens-tennis\/roster\/melchior-delloye\/30294\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"30294\" target=\"_blank\">Melchior Delloye<\/a> (18), <a href=\"https:\/\/gocrimson.com\/sports\/mens-tennis\/roster\/valdemar-pape\/30301\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"30301\" target=\"_blank\">Valdemar Pape<\/a> (17), and Perera (16) each recorded 16 or more victories throughout the 2024-25 season.&#13;<br \/>\n\tAdditionally, <a href=\"https:\/\/gocrimson.com\/sports\/mens-tennis\/roster\/rohan-murali\/30300\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"30300\" target=\"_blank\">Rohan Murali<\/a> is poised for a breakout season after 16 wins last year and a strong summer where he advanced to the semifinals of the ITA National Summer Championships.\u00a0&#13;<br \/>\n\tAhead of the 2025-26 campaign, Delloye and Pape were selected as captains of Harvard men&#8217;s tennis by their teammates.\u00a0&#13;<br \/>\n\t<a href=\"https:\/\/gocrimson.com\/sports\/mens-tennis\/roster\/coaches\/andrew-rueb-95\/2801\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"2801\" target=\"_blank\">Andrew Rueb &#8217;95<\/a>, The Scott Mead &#8217;77 Head Coach for Harvard Men&#8217;s Tennis, enters his eighth year at the helm of the Crimson.\u00a0 In his tenure, Rueb has accumulated 110 wins, three Ivy League Championships, and two All-Americans in six years of competition.\u00a0&#13;<\/p>\n<p>Next Up<br \/>\nThe Crimson will next travel to New Haven, Conn. to compete at the ITA New England Regionals from Thursday, October 9 through Monday, October 13.\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"&#13;
