Manchester United’s first-team squad have been given a monetary incentive to turn the club’s fortunes around.<\/p>\n

Amorim’s group have seen their salaries cut by the Old Trafford hierarchy after failing to qualify for the UEFA Champions League<\/a> last season.<\/p>\n

Man United’s latest financial disclosure<\/a> to the public revealed an approximate \u00a352 million drop in the club’s wage bill.<\/p>\n

According to Sky Sports<\/a>, this is tied to a 25-per-cent reduction in player salaries after not qualifying for Europe’s premier club competition.<\/p>\n

Man United finished 15th in the Premier League table last season, but could have booked their place in the league phase of the 2025-26 Champions League by defeating Tottenham Hotspur in the Europa League Final.<\/p>\n

Manchester United shares closed down 6.28% at $15.38 on the New York Stock Exchange after the club\u2019s annual accounts were released today. United reported record revenue of \u00a3666.5m and a net loss of \u00a333m, which was 70.8% down from the previous year when it was \u00a3113.2m. United have\u2026September 17, 2025<\/a><\/p>\n

Unfortunately for the Red Devils, Spurs<\/a> ran out 1-0 winners under then-boss Ange Postecoglou, to instead guarantee their participation in this season’s Champions League proper.<\/p>\n

As a result of Man United’s Europa League<\/a> Final defeat and the team’s final league position, player salaries were cut by a quarter.<\/p>\n

The club reported an approximate \u00a333m loss for the season 2024-25, although that was down by a considerable amount from their previously reported \u00a3113m loss a year prior.<\/p>\n

Minority owner and public-facing Old Trafford executive Sir Jim Ratcliffe<\/a> has taken a hard-line with the club’s finances since arriving at the club.<\/p>\n
