{"id":153559,"date":"2025-09-18T22:33:11","date_gmt":"2025-09-18T22:33:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/153559\/"},"modified":"2025-09-18T22:33:11","modified_gmt":"2025-09-18T22:33:11","slug":"5-people-facing-more-than-100-charges","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/153559\/","title":{"rendered":"5 people facing more than 100 charges"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Five people from Quebec are facing more than 100 charges after allegedly stealing several vehicles in the Greater Toronto Area.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">The investigation into the organized auto theft trafficking group, dubbed Project Egypt, launched in June 2025. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Months later, on Sept. 17, investigators executed a search warrant at a home in Mississauga. Police say they seized \u201coffence related property\u201d inside of the home and arrested five suspects as a result. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Authorities say they recovered eight stolen vehicles during their investigation. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">\u201cOne previous search warrant in Quebec resulted in the identification of approximately 25 stolen vehicles that were re-vinned,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.drps.ca\/news\/auto-theft-trafficking-investigation-results-in-five-arrests-and-more-than-100-charges\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.drps.ca\/news\/auto-theft-trafficking-investigation-results-in-five-arrests-and-more-than-100-charges\/\">Durham Regional Police said in a news release<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">While all five suspects live in Quebec, Durham Regional Police say they travelled to the Greater Toronto Area, where they allegedly stole vehicles. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Police did not say how many vehicles have been reportedly stolen in total. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">The five suspects\u2014Dylan Chimusoro, 19, Kyle Cain, 22, Jean-Junior Goureille, 24, Joshua Jean-Louis, 24, and Shainna Faustin, 32\u2014face a combined 112 charges, including theft of a motor vehicle and possession of property obtained by crime for the purpose of trafficking exceeding $5,000. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Faustin and Goureille are also facing charges for failure to comply with probation order.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">The charges have not been tested in court. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Investigators are asking anyone with information to contact them or Crime Stoppers anonymously.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Five people from Quebec are facing more than 100 charges after allegedly stealing several vehicles in the Greater&hellip;\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":153560,"comment_status":"","ping_status":"","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[4],"tags":[712,49,48,44],"class_list":{"0":"post-153559","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-canada","8":"tag-apple-news","9":"tag-ca","10":"tag-canada","11":"tag-news"},"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/153559","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/2"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=153559"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/153559\/revisions"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/153560"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=153559"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=153559"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=153559"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
