We’re not sure whom it was, and “combat sports” and “scholar” might seem to be opposing ideas. But certainly someone \u2013\u00a0probably many someones \u2013\u00a0said it once. But when it comes to said knockouts, there’s some math behind it.<\/p>\n

Let’s do a rough, rough dive into the numbers. The UFC has about 20 title fights a year, on average. And about 35 percent of those, on average, are knockout finishes. And while 1 in 3 over a long enough timeline will get you into the Baseball Hall of Fame, it’s not exactly a lock if you’re looking for a big KO in a UFC title fight.<\/p>\n
Luckily, the promotion put a whole bunch of classic KO finishes in title bouts together all in one spot \u2013\u00a0for an hour of head-splitting thrills.<\/p>\n
Included in the bunch is Michael Bisping’s stunning knockout of Luke Rockhold \u2013\u00a0and also Dan Henderson’s stunning knockout of Bisping at UFC 100 \u2026 included apparently by mistake since that wasn’t a title fight.<\/p>\n
