Seven Starling<\/a> has raised $8 million in funding led by Rethink Impact to accelerate US expansion of its maternal mental health platform. The round includes participation from Pear VC, Zeal Capital Partners, Magnify Ventures, Ulu Ventures, Expa, Fiore Ventures, the March of Dimes, Rogue Women\u2019s Fund, and Graham & Walker.<\/p>\n

The virtual women\u2019s behavioral health provider currently operates across 18 U.S. states with partnerships across 1,500 OBGYNs and plans to expand to over 30 US states by the end of 2026. The platform specializes in mental health care during fertility, pregnancy, postpartum, and early parenthood.<\/p>\n

Seven Starling was founded by Tina Keshani and Sophia Richter, who combined operational scaling expertise with personal experience navigating family-building challenges. The company addresses a significant healthcare gap, as perinatal mood and anxiety disorders affect one in five women<\/a>, making them the most common complication of childbirth. Yet 75% of diagnosed women<\/a> never receive treatment due to provider shortages, insurance limitations, and geographic access barriers. Untreated conditions cost the U.S. healthcare system $14 billion annually<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe saw an opportunity to build something different by working directly within the healthcare system rather than working around it,\u201d said Keshani, CEO and Co-Founder. \u201cOur provider-integrated approach ensures women get specialized care at the moment they need it most.\u201d<\/p>\n

The platform demonstrates strong clinical outcomes, with 90% of patients achieving significant improvement in depression symptoms through evidence-based therapy and medication management. The company maintains in-network coverage with major health plans including Anthem, Aetna, Cigna, and United Healthcare, representing over 100 million covered lives.<\/p>\n

Additional metrics show rapid access with one-day average time to initial consultation versus the five-week industry average. Some 96% of patients use in-network coverage with most copays ranging from $0-30, while 40% of patients are accessing mental health care for the first time.<\/p>\n

The technology platform offers automated patient screening, one-click referrals, and direct EMR integrations, enabling over 90% of patients to be referred by partner OBGYNs. The company\u2019s AI capabilities handle administrative workflows while licensed clinicians trained in perinatal mental health deliver individual therapy, group sessions, and medication management.<\/p>\n
