Police on the Bonavista Peninsula are warning residents of Catalina to shelter in place as they respond to an “active criminal threat along Route 237.”\u00a0<\/p>\n
Residents are asked to stay inside away from their windows, and lock their doors.<\/p>\n
Police say updates will be posted when they are available, but in the meantime, they are asking people to avoid calling 911 unless it is an emergency.<\/p>\n
Route 237 crosses the peninsula, connecting the Discovery Trail at Catalina with the Bonavista Highway near Amherst Cove.<\/p>\n
