{"id":156260,"date":"2025-09-20T03:33:08","date_gmt":"2025-09-20T03:33:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/156260\/"},"modified":"2025-09-20T03:33:08","modified_gmt":"2025-09-20T03:33:08","slug":"degrassis-lauren-collins-on-why-shes-not-in-whatever-it-takes-doc","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/156260\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8216;Degrassi&#8217;s Lauren Collins On Why She&#8217;s Not In &#8216;Whatever It Takes&#8217; Doc"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tAlthough <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/degrassi-whatever-it-takes\/\">Degrassi: Whatever It Takes<\/a> is the class reunion that many fans have been waiting for, don\u2019t expect Paige Michalchuk to make an appearance.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\t<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/lauren-collins\/\">Lauren Collins<\/a>, who played the mean girl with a heart of gold on <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/degrassi-the-next-generation\/\">Degrassi: The Next Generation<\/a>, recently explained why she didn\u2019t participate in the documentary, which recently had its world premiere at the <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/toronto-international-film-festival\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Toronto International Film Festival<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\t\u201cIt just didn\u2019t feel like the right move for me at the time,\u201d Collins told <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eonline.com\/news\/1422668\/degrassis-lauren-collins-not-in-new-documentary\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">E! News<\/a>. \u201cI\u2019m so proud of my time on the show. I feel so grateful for it. I\u2019ve been talking about it for 25 years and I\u2019m happy to do it on my own terms.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tNoting that she hasn\u2019t seen the movie, Collins said, \u201cI\u2019ve heard it\u2019s great and I\u2019m excited to see it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tMeanwhile, she gave her reaction to the <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/2025\/08\/degrassi-whatever-it-takes-trailer-exclusive-1236498618\/\">trailer<\/a>, in which co-star <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/drake\/\">Drake<\/a> admitted Collins was one of his first kisses when Paige and Jimmy locked lips in the first season.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\t\u201cI was like, \u2018I don\u2019t know if I knew that,&#8217;\u201d said Collins. \u201cI guess it\u2019s safe to assume because we were all so young when that happened.
