\n\tWoody Allen<\/a> reflected on how his career changed after allegations circulated that he sexually abused his adopted daughter, Dylan Farrow, while sharing his thoughts on cancel culture in a new interview.<\/p>\n

\n\tWhile speaking to The Wall Street Journal<\/a> earlier this week, Allen again addressed the sexual abuse claims, maintaining his innocence, and spoke about the fallout from the controversy he faced, which has included a number of stars declaring they no longer want to work with him. <\/p>\n

\n\tAnd he called cancel culture, \u201cjust dumb.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tAllen has adamantly denied the accusations that he molested Dylan when she was 7 years old. He previously reacted to the claims in his 2020 memoir\u00a0Apropos of Nothing, alleging that Dylan grew\u00a0convinced she was molested<\/a>\u00a0after her mother Mia Farrow used to sing her a song called \u201cDaddy in the Attic.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tHowever, Dylan stood by the allegations while issuing a statement to The Wall Street Journal. \u201cI am sick and tired of the misogynistic and unscientific narrative that I was coached or brainwashed. Far from it, this is a truth I reported as a child and have continued to recount consistently since,\u201d she said. \u201cI am a 40-year-old woman. I was sexually assaulted by Woody Allen.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tWhile Allen has maintained his innocence, he acknowledged that many actors have not wanted to work with him in light of the allegations. \u201cIf an actor says, \u2018I won\u2019t work with him,\u2019 basically, the actor is thinking, \u2018I\u2019m doing a good thing,\u2019 from his point of view, \u2018I\u2019m making a contribution, I\u2019m making a statement,’\u201d he told The Wall Street Journal. \u201cBut he\u2019s really making a mistake. Some day he may learn that.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tMichael Caine, Colin Firth and Greta Gerwig are among several of the actors who have said they would never work with Allen, while many have been open about regretting working with him in the past. Despite having his former collaborators turn their backs on him, Allen insisted he doesn\u2019t get \u201cangry.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI would think they would have more common sense, when they read about the situation. What surprises me, always, is how ready and willing people are to embrace it,\u201d he said. \u201cI would think someone reading the details would think, \u2018That\u2019s a little dicey looking to me.’\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tAllen spoke about cancel culture one year after Mia admitted she was able to separate her experiences<\/a> as a collaborator of Allen\u2019s and the \u201ctrials and tribulations\u201d that followed in their personal lives. <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI completely understand if an actor decides to work with him.
