MUNCIE, Ind. \u2013 The Belmont men’s golf team is in fifth place after day one of the Yestingsmeier Invitational held Saturday at Delaware Country Club in Muncie, Indiana.<\/p>\n
Belmont carded rounds of 279 and 275 on Saturday to finish the day in fifth place at 574.\u00a0\u00a0Host Ball State has the lead at 536, with Butler in second at 547.<\/p>\n
Two Bruins are among the top-20 after 36 holes.\u00a0\u00a0Senior Conner Brown<\/a> leads BU as he is tied for fourth place at 132.\u00a0\u00a0He is three strokes back of the individual leader, Luke Johnston of Ball State (129).<\/p>\n Brown carded a 64 in the first round, which is tied for the third lowest 18-hole score in the Division I era.\u00a0\u00a0His 36-hole score of 132 is tied for the fifth lowest in program history.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n Junior Chris Harpum<\/a> is tied for 18th\u00a0place at 139.\u00a0\u00a0He shot rounds of 68 and 71 on Saturday.<\/p>\n Other Belmont scores from day one included: freshman Charlie Spiller<\/a> (T-27, 140), sophomore Brennan Cozad<\/a> (T-46, 144), and freshman Jack Doyle<\/a> (T-46, 144).<\/p>\n Junior Grey Goff<\/a>, competing as an individual, is tied for 63rd\u00a0place at 146.<\/p>\n The third and final round will begin Sunday morning at 7:00am CT.\u00a0\u00a0Live scoring can be found at BelmontBruins.com.<\/p>\n Follow Belmont Men’s Golf on social media –\u00a0@BelmontMGolf on X and\u00a0@belmontmgolf on Instagram – for complete coverage of the Bruins.
