NORMAN, Okla. \u2013 Tulane University women’s golf sits in 16th place following the first day of action at the Schooner Fall Classic at the Belmar Golf Club in Norman, Oklahoma. The posted a two-round score 592 (+32) on the opening day of action from the tournament hosted by Oklahoma.

\nFreshman Sophia Macias<\/a> led the Wave on the leaderboard at the end of the day as she finished 36 holes tied for 40th overall. Macias opened with a 75 (+5) in the first round before recording a 68 (-2) in the second to finish with a two-round score of 143 (+3). She paced Tulane with 10 birdies on Saturday which ranks tied for fourth in the field.

\nNext up on the leaderboard for the Green Wave was Francesca Pompa<\/a> after two rounds of action on Saturday. Pompa landed tied for 55th after shooting a 73 (+3) in the first and a 72 (+2) in the second to finish the day with a 36-hole score of 145 (+5).

\nCristina Albertazzi<\/a> and Gabriella Gilrowski<\/a> were the next players in the standings for Tulane landing tied for 81st overall with scores of 152 (+12) through two rounds. Albertazzi opened with by shooting a 79 (+9) before rebounding to post a 73 (+3) in her second round while Gilrowski shot a 73 (+3) in her first round followed by a 79 (+9) in the second.

\nRounding out the group for the Wave was Tonka Zacharovska<\/a> who closed the day with a 36-hole score of 164 (+24) after posting rounds of 79 (+9) and 85 (+15).

\nThe Green Wave will finish competition with the final round of the Schooner Fall Classic on Sunday. Play will begin with a shotgun start at 10 a.m.
