Team World, under the guidance of new captain Andre Agassi, defeated Team Europe 15-9 to claim its third Laver Cup title in four years, on Sunday in San Francisco. The victory was secured on Sunday by American Taylor Fritz, who completed a perfect weekend by beating Alexander Zverev 6-3, 7-6 (4).<\/p>\n

Fritz, who had already upset world No. 1 Carlos Alcaraz on Saturday, delivered the final three points for his team in the last singles match of the tournament.<\/p>\n

The win was a fitting end for a Team World squad that overcame a slow start on Friday to dominate the rest of the weekend.<\/p>\n

The decisive shift came on Saturday, where Team World swept all four matches, earning two points per win to take a commanding 9-3 lead. Highlights of the day included Alex de Minaur\u2019s upset over Zverev and Fritz\u2019s stellar performance against Alcaraz.<\/p>\n

On Sunday, Team Europe mounted a brief comeback, with Alcaraz and Casper Ruud winning the opening doubles match and Alcaraz following up with a dominant singles victory over Francisco Cerundolo. However, de Minaur\u2019s win against Jakub Mensik kept Team World on track, setting up Fritz\u2019s final clinching match.<\/p>\n

With the victory, Agassi\u2019s debut as captain was a success, leading Team World to a decisive win in front of a home crowd.<\/p>\n
