She opened with a 6-2, 6-4 win over Chicago State&#8217;s Mackenzie King. She then defeated LIU&#8217;s Leena Kuittinen, 6-1, 7-5, in the semifinals. In the final, she rallied for a 4-6, 7-5, 10-7 victory over LIU&#8217;s Jenna Svatos.<\/p>\n<p>Simeonova won the &#8220;G&#8221; flight with a trio of wins. In the first round, she registered a 7-5, 4-6, 10-8 victory over Stonehill&#8217;s Piper Remillard. She then downed Binghamton&#8217;s Kayla Castellanos, 6-3, 6-2. In the final, she had a 6-2, 3-2 lead over Sophia Cunningham of Saint Francis before Cunningham had to retire.<\/p>\n<p>In the doubles &#8220;B&#8221; flight, Alvarez and Simeonova finished in third place. The duo opened with a 6-2 victory over New Haven&#8217;s Victorja Togores and Sofia Lazaro. They suffered a 6-0 loss in the semifinals to Wagner&#8217;s Samantha Bentsianov and Hannah Fitzgerald. The won the third-place match, 6-3, over Chicago State&#8217;s Danina Hughes and Nikita Liyanage.<\/p>\n<p>Senior <a href=\"https:\/\/lemoynedolphins.com\/sports\/womens-tennis\/roster\/paula-casares\/8956\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"8956\" target=\"_blank\">Paula Casares<\/a> (A Coruna, Spain\/Colegio Maristas Cristo Rey) and sophomore <a href=\"https:\/\/lemoynedolphins.com\/sports\/womens-tennis\/roster\/adelie-wilson\/9102\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"9102\" target=\"_blank\">Adelie Wilson<\/a> (Binghamton, N.Y.\/Chenango Valley) won the doubles &#8220;B&#8221; flight with three victories. They opened with a 6-3 win over Mercyhurst&#8217;s Kiersten Brown and Ellyana Jacobs. They tallied a 6-1 win in the semifinals over Chicago State&#8217;s Hughes and Liyanage. They captured the flight title with a 6-1 victory over Wagner&#8217;s Bentsianov and Fitzgerald.<\/p>\n<p>Casares finished in fifth place in the &#8220;D&#8221; singles flight. She fell in the first round to LIU&#8217;s Svatos, 6-1, 2-6, 10-4. She then recorded a win over Binghamton&#8217;s Samantha Jaros by retirement. In the fifth-place match, she registered a win over Wagner&#8217;s Dariana Vera by retirement.<\/p>\n<p>Junior <a href=\"https:\/\/lemoynedolphins.com\/sports\/womens-tennis\/roster\/lilia-raiss\/8958\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"8958\" target=\"_blank\">Lilia Raiss<\/a> (Temara, Morocco\/Descartes) advanced to the final of the &#8220;E&#8221; flight. She was a 7-5, 4-6, 10-7 winner in the first round over Breeze Simon of Saint Francis. She then defeated New Haven&#8217;s Micaela Rosignuolo, 6-3, 6-3. She was scheduled to face FDU&#8217;s Ann Kato in the final, but the match was not held.<\/p>\n<p>In the &#8220;A&#8221; flight, senior <a href=\"https:\/\/lemoynedolphins.com\/sports\/womens-tennis\/roster\/emma-sanchez-jimenez\/9469\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"9469\" target=\"_blank\">Emma Sanchez Jimenez<\/a> (Marbella, Spain\/Victoria Kent Marbella\/Eastern Florida State College\/Carson-Newman) fell to eventual champion Oleksandra Ovsiienko of FDU, 6-3, 6-1. She fell by retirement to Kelly Dowuona in the consolation bracket.<\/p>\n<p>In the &#8220;B&#8221; flight, junior <a href=\"https:\/\/lemoynedolphins.com\/sports\/womens-tennis\/roster\/ella-fernando\/8957\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"8957\" target=\"_blank\">Ella Fernando<\/a> (Manchester, England\/Stonyhurst College) fell to Stonehill&#8217;s Lilah Shallcross, 6-1, 6-2, in the first round. She lost by retirement to Mercyhurst&#8217;s Simone Mercier in the consolation bracket.<\/p>\n<p>In the &#8220;F&#8221; flight, sophomore <a href=\"https:\/\/lemoynedolphins.com\/sports\/womens-tennis\/roster\/charlotte-klein\/9173\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"9173\" target=\"_blank\">Charlotte Klein<\/a> (Mellenthin, Germany\/Education World Wide (Fla.)) fell to Stonehill&#8217;s Arya Chabria by retirement after dropping the first set, 6-1. She then lost by retirement to Chicago State&#8217;s Hughes in the consolation bracket.<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nIn the &#8220;A&#8221; doubles flight, Sanchez Jimenez and Fernando opened with a 6-3 loss to Dasha Chichkina and Helena Lynn of Saint Francis. They then fell by retirement to Mercyhurst&#8217;s Daria Rogova and Simone Mercier.<\/p>\n<p>In the &#8220;C&#8221; flight, Raiss and Klein were upended by LIU&#8217;s Paula Guillen and Emma Barclay, 6-0, in the first round. They fell by retirement to New Haven&#8217;s Pierina Lescher and Addison Rosser in the consolation bracket.<\/p>\n<p>The Dolphins are back on the court Saturday and Sunday at the Colgate Invitational at J.W.
