The Brazilian received many plaudits for his contribution in San Francisco, with Andy Roddick comparing Fonseca to Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner<\/a>.<\/p>\n This was Fonseca\u2019s<\/a> only on-court contribution at the Laver Cup this year, and he has now posted a message on social media after watching his teammates secure victory for Team World.<\/p>\n There appears to have been a very strong camaraderie on Team World<\/a> this year, even with the new leadership with Andre Agassi<\/a> and Pat Rafter<\/a>.<\/p>\n Rafter has been particularly complimentary towards Fonseca<\/a>, and as the celebrations got underway the Brazilian teenager posted a message on social media to thank his teammates.<\/p>\n In a post on Instagram, Fonseca wrote, \u201cLAVER CUP CHAMPIONS, VAMOOOOOOOS (Let\u2019s go in Spanish). <\/p>\n \u201cWhat a week! Thank you, Team World and Laver Cup, for the trust and the incredible experience over these past days. It was an honor to learn from and spend time with each of you.\u201d<\/p>\n Fonseca\u2019s post was met with many responses, including some comments from his Team World teammates.<\/p>\n Alex de Minaur<\/a>, who was the only other player at the Laver Cup to win 100% of their matches this year, simply wrote, \u201cVamoooooooos.\u201d<\/p>\n While Francisco Cerundolo<\/a> added, \u201cDaaaleeee, campeonesss (Let\u2019s go, champions in Spanish).\u201d<\/p>\n Reilly Opelka<\/a> then paid compliments to Fonseca, writing, \u201cYou\u2019re special Joao (love heart emoji).\u201d<\/p>\n What is next for Joao Fonseca after the Laver Cup?<\/p>\n It has been a huge breakout year for Fonseca, who began the 2025 season ranked as the world number 145.<\/p>\n After Fonseca won the Argentina Open and has won at least one match in his main draw debut at all four Grand Slams, he has now risen to world number 42 in the ATP<\/a> rankings.<\/p>\n The 19-year-old has only 44 ranking points to defend until the end of the season, with Fonseca likely looking to rise up the ATP rankings to be seeded for the Australian Open<\/a> next year.<\/p>\n Fonseca is currently entered into two upcoming tournaments, the first of those is at the ATP Masters 1000 tournament in Shanghai.<\/p>\n![\"Team](\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/GettyImages-2236655813-1024x683.jpg\")
