The convicted sex offender Randall Hopley has been released from custody and is now living in Vancouver, the city\u2019s police department says.<\/p>\n

The Vancouver Police Department (VPD) says it has compelling reasons to believe the 60-year-old poses a high risk to the public and to breach his conditions.<\/p>\n
These conditions include a nightly 6 p.m. curfew and not having contact with his victims or their families.<\/p>\n
Just in May this year, Hopley broke the court conditions by leaving a halfway house the day he was released from prison.<\/p>\n
He was serving another 18 months\u2019 jail sentence that a B.C. judge had ordered in May 2024 after Hopley pleaded guilty to breaching the conditions of his long-term supervision order on two occasions in 2022 and 2023.<\/p>\n
The Parole Board of Canada said Hopley has a pattern of breaching court-imposed conditions, including a prohibition on contact with children and on accessing pornography.<\/p>\n

Hopley was convicted of sexual assault and abduction of persons under 14 years of age.<\/p>\n
The Parole Board decision said Hopley\u2019s criminal history dates back to 1985, and he\u2019s been convicted of sexual assault, child abduction, and various property offences.<\/p>\n
Hopley is 5\u20199\u2033 and is approximately 175 pounds. He has brown hair and hazel eyes.<\/p>\n
Investigators from VPD\u2019s High Risk Offender Unit will work with Correctional Service Canada to monitor Hopley.<\/p>\n
