Converge ICT Solutions Inc. is carving out space in the prepaid broadband market, with its Surf2Sawa (S2S) brand hitting 500,000 active users just two years after launch. <\/p>\n

The milestone underscores how prepaid fiber has gone mainstream in the Philippines, long dominated by costly postpaid plans and inconsistent wireless options.<\/p>\n

Management\u2019s view\u00a0<\/p>\n

Converge CEO Dennis Anthony Uy said the surge reflects \u201cthe strong adoption of the market to prepaid broadband services,\u201d noting that more Filipinos now seek budget-friendly, on-demand connectivity.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Competitors have also \u00a0followed suit, with Converge OIC and consumer head JP Aguilar calling it \u201ca win for wider broadband access.\u201d<\/p>\n

Launched in late 2022, S2S was designed for price-sensitive households unable to avail postpaid subscriptions.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Accessible, high-speed Internet\u00a0<\/p>\n

Plans range from P50 to P700, offering unlimited internet with contract-free setup and minimal installation, and support up to six devices with average speeds of 50 Mbps.<\/p>\n

\u201cFor years, many Filipinos have had to rely on wireless alternatives that, while useful, often fall short in offering reliable connectivity. S2S fills in that gap, and we\u2019re glad to see that more customers are embracing this,\u201d said Converge VP Conrado \u201cDhing\u201d Pascual, who leads the unit.<\/p>\n

Demand has been strongest in NCR and South and Central Luzon, with growth also picking up across Visayas and Mindanao as the company expands its fiber footprint. \u00a0<\/p>\n
