The 2025 Canadian Disc Golf Championship, held September 12\u201314 in Port Hope, Ontario, brought together top players from across the country\u2014and a few from the U.S.\u2014for a competitive weekend on three diverse courses. Moose Jaw\u2019s Drew Biette was among them, finishing around 37th overall.<\/p>\n
\u201cI didn\u2019t have the best rounds I wanted to, but it was a cool experience,\u201d Biette said. \u201cYou\u2019re competing against the top of Canada, and it\u2019s interesting to see how others play and where small mistakes happen.\u201d<\/p>\n
The courses varied in difficulty, with one heavily wooded layout and two more open, familiar styles. Biette found his stride in the final round. \u201cI was able to come back from a rough start and shoot decently. There were a few holes where I could\u2019ve blown up, but I managed to save par or bogey.\u201d<\/p>\n
While the trip didn\u2019t leave much time for sightseeing, Biette appreciated the change of scenery. \u201cIt\u2019s beautiful out there\u2014lots of tall buildings, definitely not as flat as back home.\u201d<\/p>\n
With the season now wrapped, Biette is shifting focus to volleyball and work, but he\u2019s already planning for next year. \u201cI\u2019m turning pro next season. That means fewer local events and more big tournaments with tougher competition and bigger cash prizes.\u201d<\/p>\n
Off-season training will focus on refining form and building core strength. \u201cIf your technique\u2019s off, your throws won\u2019t be right. I\u2019ll be working on form and putting a lot more in this winter.\u201d<\/p>\n
The 2026 season kicks off next spring, and Biette is ready. \u201cIt should be a good year.
