Former PGA Tour winner turned Golf Channel analyst Brandel Chamblee tore into Bryson DeChambeau on the eve of the Ryder Cup<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

DeChambeau<\/a> returns to golf’s biggest stage this week at Bethpage Black.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The 32-year-old American has seen his popularity soar since he started creating content on YouTube and adding a second major title to his resume.\u00a0<\/p>\n

But not everybody is convinced the LIV Golf<\/a> recruit is a strong addition to Keegan Bradley’s United States team.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Chamblee was not happy with DeChambeau’s comments on the first practice day in New York, with the golfer instead deciding to mention his YouTube channel as he responded to Rory<\/a> McIlroy’s recent jibe<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“I thought it was pretty poignant there when he asked about, uh, the, the retort of Rory that he didn’t mention the goal this week of a Ryder Cup,” Chamblee said.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“Nope, he didn’t do that. He didn’t talk about playing on a team and how much that meant. Nope, he didn’t do that.<\/p>\n

“What he did do was talk about his YouTube channel, which, you know, if we want to talk about the numbers that are generated from that, it’s pretty dubious.<\/p>\n

“I have no doubt that bots are generating a lot of those, those views.<\/p>\n

“There may be some interest as well, but that’s what he wants to talk about, not the team, not the Ryder Cup.<\/p>\n

“And this is one of the reasons why I think he’s going to be such a difficult person to get paired with.”<\/p>\n

The aforementioned Bradley is, unsurprisingly, keeping his cards close to his chest with regards to his pairings.\u00a0<\/p>\n

DeChambeau played his practice round today with Justin Thomas<\/a>, Cameron Young<\/a> and Ben Griffin<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

It is understood Young and DeChambeau might team up given they both use the same golf ball.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“No doubt he’s one hell of a golfer,” Chamblee added. “No doubt he has his moments of generosity with fans I’ve heard about.<\/p>\n

“But he’s an odd duck when he’s trying to blend in with the team.<\/p>\n

“And he has so many potential bulletin board mistakes and I, I think he would be a captain’s nightmare.”<\/p>\n
