Ella Becker<\/a> has been named Conference USA Goalkeeper of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday. Becker becomes the first student-athlete in Missouri State women’s soccer history to earn a CUSA weekly award since the program’s move into the conference this fall.<\/p>\nBecker anchored the Bears to a 0-0 road draw at Liberty on Sept. 19, recording six saves and playing the full 90 minutes in goal. Her shutout performance preserved Missouri State’s first-ever point in Conference USA play.<\/p>\n
The veteran keeper’s effort came against a Flames squad that generated 13 total shots, including six on frame. She turned away multiple quality looks in both halves to secure her third shutout of the season.<\/p>\n
The Bears (3-5-2, 0-0-1 CUSA) return to action on Thursday as they face the Jacksonville State Gamecocks\u00a0in a 6 p.m. road match.
