The Prince of Darkness, Ozzy Osbourne, has died at the age of 76, just weeks after taking to the stage for a final performance with the original members of his old band Black Sabbath <\/a>in Birmingham, England.<\/p>\n

No cause of death was revealed.<\/p>\n

Osbourne had been living with Parkinson\u2019s Disease \u2014 a diagnosis he revealed to the public in 2020 after suffering a fall.<\/p>\n

A statement attributed to the Osbourne family said the metal icon died Tuesday night.<\/p>\n

Osbourne, who was born on December 3, 1948, formed Black Sabbath in 1968 in Birmingham, and later went on to a successful solo career \u2014 and for a time in the early 2000s was a reality TV curiosity on the MTV show \u201cThe Osbournes.\u201d<\/p>\n

But it was his work behind a microphone, first with Sabbath, and later as a solo act, that vaulted him to legendary status. <\/p>\n

His final performance with Sabbath a few weeks ago drew\u00a040,000 frenzied fans and a who\u2019s who of rock royalty who showed up to not only perform, but honour Ozzy\u2019s legendary career. <\/p>\n

\u201cLet the madness begin!\u201d Ozzy said, seated from the throne he performed on during his final gig. <\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t know what to say, man, I\u2019ve been laid up for like six years. You have no idea how I feel \u2014 thank you from the bottom of my heart,\u201d Osbourne said. \u201cYou\u2019re all \u2026 special. Let\u2019s go crazy, come on.\u201d <\/p>\n

All profits from Ozzy\u2019s final July 5 show with Sabbath went to charities including Cure Parkinson\u2019s, Birmingham Children\u2019s Hospital and Acorn Children\u2019s Hospice.<\/p>\n

His former band was among the many who paid tribute to Ozzy after his passing, simply writing \u201cOzzy forever.\u201d<\/p>\n
