Sinner has won the ATP event in Beijing before, and will likely be hoping to bounce straight back from the disappointment of losing the US Open final. However, Sinner will need to avoid a slow start, as he has been drawn against Grand Slam champion Marin Cilic in the first round.

Lee Clarke: Lorenzo Musetti is in good form, and surely Daniil Medvedev cannot keep losing matches, can he? He does play his Roland Garros conqueror Cam Norrie first up, however, so I will opt for Musetti.

George Patten: Sometimes the obvious answer is the right one, and it’s hard to imagine anyone stopping Jannik Sinner from lifting the title in Beijing. A losing finalist one year ago, his greatest rival, Carlos Alcaraz, won’t be joining him in 2025, leaving him with a clear shot at victory.

Peter Lynch: Jannik Sinner will be well rested following his time at the US Open, and I really can’t see anyone other than the Italian coming out on top this week, continuing his phenomenal season with another trophy.

It’s time for the ATP China Open!
