Today at Connect, Mark Zuckerberg unveiled the next evolution in AI glasses: Meta Ray-Ban Display and Meta Neural Band<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Meta Ray-Ban Display glasses are designed to help you look up and stay present. With a quick glance at the in-lens display, you can check messages, preview photos, see translations, get help from Meta AI<\/a>, and more \u2014 all without needing to pull out your phone. It\u2019s technology that keeps you tuned in to the world around you, not distracted from it.<\/p>\n

This breakthrough category of AI glasses comes with a full-color, high-resolution display that\u2019s there when you want it \u2014\u00a0and gone when you don\u2019t. The display is placed off to the side, so it doesn\u2019t obstruct your view. And it isn\u2019t on all the time \u2014 it\u2019s designed for short interactions that you\u2019re always in control of. This isn\u2019t about strapping a phone to your face. It\u2019s about helping you quickly accomplish some of your everyday tasks without breaking your flow.\u00a0<\/p>\n

It\u2019s the first product that takes microphones, speakers, cameras, and a full-color display backed with compute and AI \u2014 and puts it all together in a single device that\u2019s stylish and comfortable.<\/p>\n

EMG: Turning Subtle Movements Into Digital Commands<\/p>\n

Every new computing platform comes with new ways to interact, and we\u2019re really excited to introduce our Meta Neural Band. It replaces the touchscreens, buttons, and dials of today\u2019s technology with a sensor on your wrist, so you can silently scroll, click, and, in the near future, even write out messages using subtle finger movements.<\/p>\n

Four years ago, we shared a look into our work on wrist-based wearables leveraging EMG<\/a> (electromyography) technology. Meta Neural Band is the product of years of surface electromyography (EMG) research<\/a> with nearly 200,000 research participants. This means the wristband will work right out of the box for nearly anyone. That\u2019s a huge technical feat because of the level of variance in people\u2019s muscles. From an accessibility perspective<\/a>, muscle signals at the wrist can provide control signals for people who can\u2019t produce large movements (due to a spinal cord injury, stroke or another disabling event), experience tremors, or have fewer than five fingers on their hand.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The amount of signals the band can detect is incredible \u2014 it has the fidelity to measure movement even before it\u2019s visually perceptible.<\/p>\n

We built the Meta Neural band to be durable, lightweight, and comfortable for all-day wear with up to 18 hours of battery life and an IPX7 water rating. And it\u2019s made with Vectran, the same material used on the crash pads of the Mars Rover to ensure a smooth landing, so it\u2019s strong as steel when pulled, yet soft enough to bend easily.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\nPedestrian Navigation: Get where you need to go, with phone-free, walking directions. Select your destination and get turn-by-turn walking directions with a visual map of the area shown on your glasses\u2019 display. Live Captions & Translation: Meta Ray-Ban Display breaks down barriers with its live captioning feature. When prompted, it can display captions for the speech that\u2019s directed at you, or translate select languages for you in real-time \u2014 all while you stay present and engaged in the conversation.<\/p>\n

Music Playback: See what you\u2019re listening to in real time with the music card shown on the glasses\u2019 display. Swipe left and right with your thumb to navigate music, or pinch your fingers together and rotate your wrist to turn the volume, just like you\u2019re dialing up a speaker IRL.<\/p>\n

Pricing, Demos, & Details<\/p>\n

Starting at $799 USD, which includes both the glasses and Meta Neural Band, Meta Ray-Ban Display will let you experience, learn about, and interact with the world in a totally new way. Meta Ray-Ban Display will hit shelves September 30 at limited brick-and-mortar retailers in the US, including Best Buy<\/a>, LensCrafters<\/a>, Sunglass Hut<\/a>, and Ray-Ban Stores<\/a>. Availability in select Verizon<\/a> stores will follow soon after. Expansion to Canada, France, Italy, and the UK is planned for early 2026. We\u2019re starting with select retailers and regions to make sure customers get the glasses and band that\u2019s perfect for them, and we\u2019ll expand buying options over time.<\/p>\n
