The Colorado College women’s soccer team opens Mountain West play against New Mexico on Thursday, Sept. 25, at 7 p.m., in Albuquerque, N.M.\u00a0 Two first-half penalties elevated the Wildcats over the Tigers, despite being outshot by CC 10-8 in the second half.Sophomore Jessica Anderson<\/a> scored her second-career goal with a header off a corner kick assist from Kylie Smith<\/a> in the 75th minute. Goalkeeper Regan Wallace<\/a> is tied for fourth with three shutouts this year. Rose lifted CC to its most recent win, a 2-1 decision over Northern Colorado on Sept. 7th, where Rose scored her first two career goals in the same game.<\/p>\n Freshman Sophia Mayne<\/a> scored her first career goal earlier in the season against UC San Diego.<\/p>\n Senior Kylie Smith<\/a> and sophomore Nadia Cassamajor<\/a> both lead the team with two assists.\u00a0<\/p>\n On The Road Fiona Jenkins leads the Mountain West with seven assists, averaging just under one assist per game.<\/p>\n UNM defeated New Mexico State on Sept. 7th, but have fallen in back-to-back contests to UC Santa Barbara (2-0) on Sept. 11 and Cal State Fullerton (3-0) on Sept. 14.

\nCC (3-3-2) currently sits in seventh place in the conference standings after the conclusion of non-conference play.

\nThe Tigers fell to Kansas State, 3-1, on Sept. 11, in its final non-conference matchup. CC put 16 shots on the box score, with four being on net. They had a total of 23 scoring opportunities. Kansas State had a strong offensive outing, producing 22 shots with 12 on goal.<\/p>\n

\nCC has the fourth-best offense in the Mountain West, scoring nine goals this season. Junior Kendall Memoly<\/a> leads the team and is tied for third in the conference with four goals. She is tied for fourth with nine points, including her one assist.<\/p>\n

\nAfter Memoly scored the first four goals of the season for CC, the other five goals have come from three different players. Jessica Anderson<\/a> and junior Tyler Rose<\/a> are second on the team with two goals and an assist.<\/p>\n

\nCC is 3-2 on the road this year, compared to being 1-7 last season. The Tigers have outscored their opponents 7-6 and have a shot percentage of .115 compared to .087 from their opponents.\u00a0

\nNew Mexico enters Thursday with a 4-2-2 record after finishing the 2024 campaign with a 7-6-5 overall record. The Lobos are led by Alejandro Puerto and Nicole Anderson, who both have four goals. Anderson leads the team with 23 shots.<\/p>\n
