\n\tJimmy Kimmel<\/a> is exercising his First Amendment right as a U.S. citizen and firing back at Donald Trump<\/a> after the President of the United States hinted his late-night talk show would be canceled next.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI\u2019m hearing you\u2019re next. Or maybe it\u2019s just another wonderful secret,\u201d Kimmel posted on Instagram, taking a jab at Trump.<\/p>\n

\n\tTrump had taken to Truth Social, calling out Kimmel and Jimmy Fallon and assuring his followers their shows would have the same fate as Stephen Colbert\u2019s.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThe word is, and it\u2019s a strong word at that, Jimmy Kimmel is NEXT to go in the untalented Late Night Sweepstakes and, shortly thereafter, Fallon will be gone,\u201d Trump posted. \u201cThese are people with absolutely NO TALENT, who were paid Millions of Dollars for, in all cases, destroying what used to be GREAT Television. It\u2019s really good to see them go, and I hope I played a major part in it!\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tLast Thursday, CBS announced that The Late Show with Stephen Colbert would be ending its run<\/a> at the end of the 2025-26 season. The network said that the cancellation of The Late Show was \u201cpurely a financial decision against a challenging backdrop in late night\u201d and \u201cis not related in any way to the show\u2019s performance, content or other matters happening at Paramount.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe news dropped after Colbert called Paramount Global\u2019s $16 million settlement of Trump\u2019s 60 Minutes lawsuit a \u201cbig fat bribe.\u201d<\/a> Settling the suit had been considered a move by Paramount to help secure FCC approval for the Skydance merger.<\/p>\n

\n\tFollowing the announcement, Trump took to social media to celebrate Colbert\u2019s cancellation<\/a>, saying, \u201cI absolutely love that Colbert got fired. His talent was even less than his ratings. I hear Jimmy Kimmel is next. Has even less talent than Colbert! Greg Gutfeld is better than all of them combined, including the Moron on NBC who ruined the once great Tonight Show.\u201d<\/p>\n
