Jonathan Kuminga\u2019s offseason has been far from smooth sailing.<\/p>\n

The 6-foot-7 NBA champion Golden State Warriors<\/a> forward has yet to agree to a new deal with the Dubs, hindering the franchise from officially signing their desired free agent targets.\u00a0<\/p>\n

However, it\u2019s widely believed that Kuminga will soon sign a reasonable contract with the Warriors, which would undoubtedly put the organization and its fan base at ease.\u00a0<\/p>\n

That said, Kuminga didn\u2019t do himself any favors recently by making a controversial decision<\/a> ahead of training camp.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cJimmy Butler is actually holding a team function, a team mini camp in San Diego this week,\u201d ESPN\u2019s Shams Charania reported Wednesday. \u201cOne player that is not there…Jonathan Kuminga. My understanding is he is not appearing at this team function. It’s still at a stalemate.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

It feels as though Kuminga\u2019s damaged relationship with the Warriors has caused the former lottery pick to feel disconnected from any and everything related to the franchise.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Considering the 22-year-old believes he isn\u2019t being appropriately utilized in the Bay, it makes sense why he\u2019s unhappy with his current situation.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Still, from a team chemistry standpoint, it probably wasn\u2019t the wisest idea for Kuminga to miss out on a pivotal bonding experience that could have helped uplift his spirits during a challenging time.\u00a0<\/p>\n

It\u2019ll be interesting to see when and how the Kuminga conflict gets resolved.<\/p>\n
