{"id":168117,"date":"2025-09-25T09:54:09","date_gmt":"2025-09-25T09:54:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/168117\/"},"modified":"2025-09-25T09:54:09","modified_gmt":"2025-09-25T09:54:09","slug":"1044-mile-cycling-litter-pick-in-shape-of-a-lucozade-bottle-singletrack-world-magazine","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/168117\/","title":{"rendered":"1,044 mile cycling litter-pick in shape of a Lucozade bottle \u2013 Singletrack World Magazine"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Damien Gabet has cycled 22 days across England in the shape of a giant Lucozade bottle, while collecting litter from trails.<\/p>\n<p>Originally setting off from his home town of Margate (you can <a href=\"https:\/\/www.komoot.com\/collection\/3699104\/-the-lucrusade\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">view the full route here<\/a>), he finished at the Camp Wildfire Festival.<\/p>\n<p>The journey saw a total of 2,484 bottles picked and counted.<\/p>\n<p>Dubbed \u2018The Lu-crusade\u2019, the effort was all about tackling trail trash with a bit of creativity. With plastic bottles making up a third of countryside litter, and Lucozade the most commonly found branded item, hence the bottle-shaped route.
