now learned his next opponent in the competition.<\/p>\n<p>The last few days have been incredibly positive for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thewrexhaminsider.com\/club\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Wrexham<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Saturday brought a big Championship win as Wrexham beat Norwich City 3-2 away from home, before <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thewrexhaminsider.com\/match\/five-things-learned-as-wrexham-beat-reading-lift-off-for-nathan-broadhead-and-new-signing-catches-the-eye\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Phil Parkinson\u2019s side beat Reading 2-0 in the Carabao Cup<\/a> on Tuesday night.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thewrexhaminsider.com\/match\/phil-parkinson-shares-verdict-on-dangerous-wrexham-star-after-reading-display-hes-been-unlucky\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Nathan Broadhead scored twice to fire Wrexham into the fourth round<\/a> for the first time in 48 years, as Parkinson dumped his former club out of the competition.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thewrexhaminsider.com\/news\/phil-parkinson-shares-the-one-bit-of-magic-wrexham-have-yet-to-experience-under-rob-mac-and-ryan-reynolds\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Parkinson wanted a plum tie in round four<\/a>, and the Wrexham boss has now learned his fate after Wednesday night\u2019s draw.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" opponents<\/p>\n<p>The draw for the fourth round was conducted after the conclusion of Wednesday\u2019s Carabao Cup fixtures.<\/p>\n<p>Wrexham have been drawn at home once again, and will take on another League One side \u2013 but this time, it\u2019s Cardiff City.<\/p>\n<p>The ST\u014dK Cae Ras will play host to a Welsh derby in round four, as Brian Barry-Murphy brings his Bluebirds to North Wales.<\/p>\n<p>Cardiff have started the League One season in fine fashion, accumulating 17 points from the first eight games.<\/p>\n<p>Cardiff\u2019s relegation from the Championship last season meant it looked like Wrexham\u2019s only Welsh derbies this season would come against Swansea City.<\/p>\n<p>That has all changed now, and you can guarantee that Wrexham fans will create quite the atmosphere in a derby against Cardiff \u2013\u00a0especially with a place in the last eight up for grabs.<\/p>\n<p>Wrexham v Cardiff City history<\/p>\n<p>Phil Parkinson wanted a top Premier League club in the fourth round draw, but he won\u2019t be unhappy with a tie against Cardiff.<\/p>\n<p>These are the games everybody wants to play in, and the fact that the two clubs haven\u2019t met for so long only adds to the excitement.<\/p>\n<p>Wrexham last faced Cardiff way back in March 2002, losing 3-2 away at Ninian Park.<\/p>\n<p>Craig Faulconbridge and Hector Sam were on the scoresheet that day, but the two teams have managed to avoid each other for than 20 years now.<\/p>\n<p>Wrexham\u2019s last win over the Bluebirds came in January 2000, with fan favourites Karl Connolly and Darren Ferguson finding the net.<\/p>\n<p>Wrexham now have a great chance to reach the last eight of the competition, but must be ready for a real battle against a Cardiff side who would love to spoil the
