The Montreal Canadiens Announce a Surprising 21-Year-Old Centerman <\/p>\n

A completely unexpected new candidate has just entered the race for a roster spot with the Montreal Canadiens this season.<\/p>\n

Could Vinzenz Rohrer<\/a> Be THE Surprise of the Canadiens’ 2025 Training Camp?<\/p>\n

More and more, Rohrer is generating buzz in Montreal..<\/p>\n

“Vinzenz Rohrer continues to earn points and should get a second preseason game. He can believe in his dream of reaching the NHL thanks to his energy and speed. In many ways, he resembles Paul Byron.”<\/p>\n

That shows, first, that he’s clearly being considered as a potential NHL centerman.<\/p>\n

And second, it shows that the Montreal Canadiens are genuinely interested in him and that he’s truly in the conversation to start the season in Montreal.<\/p>\n

Vinzenz Rohrer, 21, is a 5-foot-11, 168-pound forward who was selected in the third round of the 2022 Draft (75th overall) by the Canadiens.<\/p>\n

He collected 25 points in 52 games last season in Switzerland’s National League A with Zurich.<\/p>\n

At this point, he seems to have surpassed names like Owen Beck and Joshua Roy<\/a> in the race to start the season in Montreal.<\/p>\n
