Pete Davidson\u2019s heart-wrenching conversation with his mom inspired his sobriety. <\/a><\/p>\n

The \u201cSaturday Night Live\u201d alum reflected on the meaningful chat he shared with his mother, Amy Waters Davidson, on Tuesday\u2019s episode of Theo Von\u2019s\u00a0\u201cThis Past Weekend\u201d\u00a0podcast.\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cMy mom\u2019s the most supportive person in the world,\u201d Pete shared. \u201cAnd it got to a point where she called me when I was in rehab and she was like, \u2018My biggest fear is that I will turn on the news and I\u2019ll see that my son has died.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Davidson revealed his mother Amy\u2019s words on Tuesday\u2019s episode of Theo Von\u2019s \u201cThis Past Weekend\u201d podcast. This Past Weekend w\/ Theo Von\/YouTube<\/p>\n

The comedian \u2014 who checked into rehab at least twice<\/a> last year due to mental health issues \u2014 described his mom as being someone who \u201cwants to always have positivity around.\u201d <\/p>\n

\u201cThat killed me,\u201d Pete said. \u201cSo I was like, \u2018Alright, can\u2019t die until she\u2019s dead.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Pete, 31, also explained that he didn\u2019t want his mother to have to experience more heartbreak after his dad, Scott Davidson, died while serving as a New York City firefighter during the September 11 terrorist attacks. <\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019d have to be a f\u2013king sociopath to not get my s\u2013t together,\u201d he said. <\/p>\n

Pete \u2014 who has been sober for more than a year \u2014 said that his mom and so many of his loved ones have stood by him through his struggles. <\/p>\n

\u201cAnybody that\u2019s actually loved me and cared about me has gotten the worst wrath from me,\u201d he said. \u201cLike, \u2018F\u2013k you, leave me. Go ahead, leave me.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

However, his family and friends never abandoned him \u2014 despite his \u201cderanged\u201d behavior.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was like, \u2018Oh s\u2013t you\u2019re calling my bluff,\u2019\u201d he recalled. \u201cAnd I love you and I don\u2019t want you to go away.\u201d<\/p>\n

Amy and her heroic late husband also shared daughter Casey, 28, and the Davidson family is continuing to grow now that Pete\u2019s girlfriend, Elsie Hewitt, is pregnant <\/a>and expecting a child with the actor.<\/p>\n

\u201cThank God I\u2019m sober and where I am,\u201d Pete said, noting, \u201cI\u2019m very grateful that it happened now and with Elsie.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Pete also said that there would be \u201cno f\u2013king way\u201d it would have been \u201cpossible\u201d to have a kid if he didn\u2019t get clean. <\/p>\n

The couple confirmed that they were expecting a child in July, with Hewitt writing on Instagram, \u201cwelp now everyone knows we had sex.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cPete is so excited for this next chapter,\u201d a source told Page Six at the time. \u201cHis family is thrilled and can\u2019t wait to become grandparents, aunts, etc.\u201d<\/p>\n

The \u201cKing of Staten Island\u201d star previously had relationships with several A-list celebrities<\/a>, including Kim Kardashian, Ariana Grande, Emily Ratajkowski, Kaia Gerber and Phoebe Dynevor.<\/p>\n
