\n\tPete Davidson<\/a> is calling out the internet for turning on Pedro Pascal<\/a>. While appearing on Theo Von\u2019s \u201cThis Past Weekend\u201d podcast<\/a> (via People<\/a>), the \u201cSNL\u201d alum commented on how social media \u201ccan\u2019t wait\u201d to turn against entertainment figures they\u2019ve previously loved.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cFucking two years ago he\u2019s a hardworking, great actor,\u201d Davidson said of Pascal\u2019s reputation. \u201cEveryone was like, \u2018He\u2019s worked so hard and has been a struggling actor.\u2019 Fucking blows up so fucking hard. Everyone\u2019s like, \u2018Daddy, daddy! Yeah, daddy, daddy.\u2019 Then a year later, he\u2019s in everything now because he\u2019s hot and big and everyone\u2019s like, \u2018Go the fuck away, dude.’\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cYou got to give someone time to adjust to that new level of fame,\u201d Davidson continued. \u201cHe\u2019s been banging at it for 30 years and now he\u2019s learning how to go get a cup of coffee or like deal with someone that taps you on the shoulder while you have your earbuds in and freaks you out. You got to give that guy a fucking second to, like, adjust.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cIt\u2019s like we build everybody up. It\u2019s, like, so fast to turn [on the celebrity],\u201d Davidson concluded as Von agreed, adding: \u201cThe turn is crazy.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tDavidson said Pascal is far from alone and social media is \u201cgoing to do it with Walton Goggins next. \u2026 It\u2019s, like, within months.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tPascal has hit new career peaks as the leading man of several major Hollywood franchises, from \u201cStar Wars\u201d (his role on \u201cThe Mandalorian\u201d will now transfer to the big screen when \u201cThe Mandalorian and Grogu\u201d hits theaters in May 2026) to Marvel (\u201cFantastic Four\u201d opened this summer and he\u2019ll be back as Reed Richards in next year\u2019s \u201cAvengers: Doomsday\u201d) and \u201cThe Last of Us.\u201d As part of a Vanity Fair cover story<\/a> earlier this year, Pascal revealed it was being cast in the Marvel Cinematic Universe that got him the most strife from social media users.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI\u2019m more aware of disgruntlement around my casting than anything I\u2019ve ever done,\u201d Pascal said about playing Reed Richards\/Mr. Fantastic, adding that the regular complaints he heard were as follows: \u201cHe\u2019s too old. He\u2019s not right. He needs to shave.\u201d<\/p>\n
